Arwen is the daughter of Elrond and Celebrían. She had two brothers, Elladan and Elrohir.

In the book, Arwen is barely mentioned, she appears only in the end when she married Aragorn. Therefore follows a description of Arwen's role in Peter Jackson's movies :

After Frodo had been wounded in a fight against the Nazgûl at the Weathertop, Arwen met Aragorn and the hobbits in the forest. Aragorn was not able to heal Frodo, so Arwen decided that she would bring Frodo to Rivendell. Although Aragorn didn't want to let her go, she rode with Frodo to Rivendell, persecuted by five Nazgûl, which were not able to catch her. Arwen met Aragorn in the wood of Rivendell for the frist time when he was twenty years old. Later she fell in love with him. For him, she gave up the immortality of the elves and chose a mortal life.

Arwen's horse is called Asfaloth.

Arwen is performed by Liv Tyler in Peter Jackson's Lord Of The Rings.
