:: Celeborn ::

Names : Celeborn, Lord of Lórien

Date of birth : Is not known, but it seems as if he was born already before the 1st Age
Date of death : Is not known, but it is sure that he stayed in Middle-Earth for the first years of the Fourth Age
Race : Elf, Sindar
Celeborn was Galadriel's husband.

Galadriel said about him that he was one of the wisest Elves of Middle-Earth (Some people thought that she said this only because he sometimes listened to the advice of his wife.)

However, Galadriel and Celeborn didn't always share the same opinion. The best example is their opinion about the Dwarves. While Celeborn didn't like them very much and didn't want to have any contact with them, Galadriel respected them as brave warriors. Celeborn himself was a good warrior, while Galadriel always prefered the diplomatic solution.

During the First Age, Celeborn and Galadriel dwelt in Menegroth for a long time. Later they moved to Nandor in the wild of Eriador.

At the beginning of the Second Age, Celeborn and his wife lived first in Lindon but later they moved again, this time to Eregion. At the time when Celebrimbor was influenced by Sauron and lured to forge the Rings of Power Galadriel moved through the Mines of Moria to Lórien. Celeborn didn't join her because he didn't want to enter the halls of the Dwarves. Together with Elrond's folk he protected the land against Sauron and with the help of the Númenoreans Sauron was finally defeated. After that Celebron met Galadriel in Imladris again.

In the Third Age, Celeborn and Galadriel moved to Lórien and stayed there during the whole Age. After the War of the Ring Galadriel passed into the West but Celeborn didn't join her. He stayed in Middle-Earth and lived in Imladris with Elrond's sons. It is not know wether he ever saw Galadriel again. Galadriel and Celeborn had one daughter, called Celebrian.

Celeborn is performed by Marton Csokas in Peter Jackson's Lord Of The Rings.
