Name : Elendil
Other names and titles : High King, King of Arnor, King of Gondor, Lord of Andúnië, The Tall, Voronada
Date of birth : 3119 of the Second Age 
Date of death : 3441 of the Second Age 
Race : Men

Elendil was the last Lord of the Andúnië, his father was called Amandil. He escaped from the Downfall of Númenor with his sons Isildur and Anárion. Together they fled to Middle-Earth and founded the kingdoms Arnor and Gondor. He held contact with his sons through the palántiri and he also was a good friend of Gil-galad. Elendil was slain by Sauron in the War of the Last Alliance, but his son Isildur was able to cut the One Ring off Sauron's hand. His sword Narsil was broken in this battle, but in the Third Age it was reforged by the Elves of Rivendell and given to Aragorn, Isildur's heir.

Elendil is performed by Peter Mc Kenzie in Peter Jackson's Lord Of The Rings.
