A Hobbit's Tale

Éomer was the son of Eomund and Théodwyn, the sister of King Théoden.

When he was only 26 years old, Éomer became the Third Marshal of the Riddermark. He commanded the Riders of Eastfold and protected Rohan against the Orcs from Mordor and he also tried to protect Théoden from Grima's influence.

In the year 3019 of the Third Age, Éomer became the heir of the throne of Rohan, because Théoden's son Théodred was slain in the First Battle of the Fords of Isen. Five day later Éomer met Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas who were hunting the Orcs that had kidnapped Merry and Pippin and brought them to King Théoden, where the three, together with Gandalf, freed the king of Grima's influence.

After the Rohirrim defeated Saruman with the help of the Ents, Éomer took part in the Battle of the Pelennor fields. King Théoden died in that battle, but before he died he announced Éomer to be the next King of Rohan.

After the War of the Ring Éomer married Lothíriel and ruled Rohan for sixty-five years.He developed a great friendship with Gondor during that time, and fought many wars together with King Elessar. The last month of his life he spent with Merry, who had become a good friend of him. When he died, his son Elfwine became King of Rohan.
