Gríma was Théoden's counsellor and spy of Saruman. His aim was to keep the country of Rohan weak, therefore he persuaded Théoden illnesses which could only be healed if the King wouldn't move from his throne, would avoid daylight and leave the leading of Rohan to Gríma.

After Gríma had been unmasked by Gandalf he joined Saruman again. Together Saruman and Gríma went to the Shire, where Gríma slew Lotho Sackville-Baggins. Later, he took revenge on Saruman and killed him. Afterwards Gríma was killed himself by the hobbits.

Grima is performed by Brad Dourif in Peter Jackson's Lord Of The Rings.
