The story
of the Orcs :
Originally, Orcs have been Elves who were captured and tortured
by Melkor.
The Orcs were small, their skin was
black, they had little noses, slit eyes and very sharp teeth. The
light of the sun made them weak, that was why they lived in shafts and
tunnels. Even if they were uncultured, they knew some medical herbs.
When they were first breeded, the Orcs had no language of their own.
They used other languages and perverted them, some of the Orcs also
used the Westron. They developed many different dialects, even their
own tribes didn't understand all the different dialects which were
used among them. Later on Sauron developed the Black Speech of Mordor,
and wanted all his servants to use it, but not all the Orcs did that.
Orcs can be 5'2" tall (Moria Orcs) to 5'5".
There were two types
of Orcs. The Snaga (in the language of
Mordor the word "snaga" meant slave) were small Orcs.
They came from the Misty Mountains and built the infantry of Sauron. The Uruk-Hai

Is not precisely known, but the Orcs were breeded out of the Elves who stayed in Middle-Earth while the other Elves
journeyed to Valinor, so the Orcs existed since the First Age.
