Other names and titles : Emil i Pheriannath, Thain of the Shire
Date of birth : Year 2990 of the Third Age
Date of death : Year 70 of the Fourth Age
Race : Hobbit

Pippin was the son of Paladin Took II of Great Smials. He joined the Fellowship of the Ring, being the youngest of the hobbits. At Parth Galen, he and Merry were kidnapped by Orcs, but the two Hobbits were able to escape into Fangorn Forest. There they met the Ent Treebeard.

Merry and Pippin watched the destruction of Isengard and later Pippin travelled with Gandalf to Minas Tirith after he had watched into the Palantír and seen the Lidless Eye. In Minas Tirith, Pippin became a bondsman of Denethor II.

Aftet the War of the Ring, Pippin travelled back to the Shire and there inherited the title Thain of the Shire in the year 13 of the Fourth Age. He stayed in contact with Gondor, where he also passed the last years of his life together with Merry.

Pippin is performed by Billy Boyd in Peter Jackson's Lord Of The Rings.
