Treebeard was the oldest Ent living in Middle-Earth. He lived in the Fangorn Forest. The forest had taken its name from Treebeard, who was also called Fangorn. His real name was so long that nobody could say it, because his name has grown longer during the years.

Treebeard was living in a cave called Wellinghall, and there he also brought Merry and Pippin, after the two Hobbits had escaped from some Uruk-Hais. His food was all liquid, it made Merry and Pippin grow up when they tasted it. He had never taken part in any wars until Merry and Pippin told him about Saruman and that he had become a servant of Sauron. By hearing that, Treebeard called together all the Ents of Fangorn and convinced them of marching against Isengard. Togehter with his friends he destroyed Isengard.

Treebeard's voice is performed by John-Rhys Davies in Peter Jackson's Lord Of The Rings.
