Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli are on the shore, waiting for the black ships of the Umbar Corsairs to come closer.

Aragorn : You may no go further. You will not enter Gondor. (The corsairs laugh).
Corsair : Who are you to deny us passage ?
Aragorn : Legolas, fire a warning shot past the bosun's ear.
Gimli : Mind your aim.

Gimli knudges Legolas' bow while the elf is aiming and a stray arrow kills the captain.

Gimli : That's it. Right. We warned you. Prepare to be boarded.
Corsair : Borded ? By you and whose army ?
Aragorn : This army.

The army of the dead appears from behind and defeats the corsairs.

The riders of Rohan rest before charging the enemy in Gondor.

Éomer : The scouts report Minas Tirith is surrounded. The lower level's in flames. Everywhere, legions of the enemy advance.
Théoden : Time is against us.
Éomer : Make ready !
Éowyn : Take heart, Merry. It will soon be over.
Merry : My lady... you are fair and brave and have much to live for and many who love you.
I know it is too late to turn aside. I know there is not much point now in hoping. If I were a knight of Rohan, capable of great deeds... But I'm not. I'm a Hobbit. And I know I can’t save Middle-Earth. I just want to help my friends. Frodo. Sam. Pippin. More than anything, I wish I could see them again.

Éomer : Prepare to move out !
Théoden : Make haste. We ride through the night.
Eowyn : (Looking to Merry) To battle.
Merry : To battle.

Pippin watches Minas Tirith being attacked by Sauron's army. He turns over and sees Denethor walking, followed by his guards, who carry Faramir's body.

Denethor : I am steward of the House of Anárion. Thus have I walked. And thus now will I sleep.

Pippin goes forward.

Denethor : Gondor is lost. There is no hope for Men. (We see Minas Tirith). Why do the fools fly ? Better to die sooner than late. For die we must.

Pippin follows him still.

Denethor : No tomb for Denethor and Faramir. No long, slow sleep of death embalmed. We shall burn, like the heathen kings of old. Bring wood and oil.

Pippin comes to Gandalf, asking for his help to stop Denethor from burning his own son alive. When riding, the two meet the Witch-King, who has descended in his Nazgûl to confront the White wizard.

Gandalf : Go back to the abyss. Fall into the nothingness that awaits you and your master.
Witch-King : Do you not know death when you see it, old man ? This is my hour.

The Witch-King' sword bursts into flames and he manages to break Gandalf's white staff and unhorse him and Pippin. The Witch-King approaches Gandalf.

Pippin : Gandalf !

The Hobbit tries to defend Gandalf, holdind his sword.

Witch-King : You have failed. The world of Men will fall.

Gandalf and Pippin would have died if the sound of a Rohan's horn had not saved them. The Witch-King goes away.

During the battle in the Pelennor fields, Éowyn fights against Gothmog.

Later, Aragorn kills him.

After the battle in the Pelennor fields, Pippin discovers Merry's cloak on the floor and Éomer his wounded sister.

Éomer : (Running to Éowyn's body, lying on the ground) No ! No !

Aragorn sees them and searches for Éowyn in the house of the healing, where her brother is guarding her. The hands of the King are the hands of a healer. Aragorn takes care of her and saves her from the Witch-King's touch.

We hear Liv Tyler singing :

With a sigh you turn away
With a deepening heart
No more words to say
You will find that the world has changed
Forever
And the trees are now
Turning from green to gold
And the sun is now fading
I wish I could hold you
Closer

After the conversation between Gandalf, Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas and Éomer, Aragorn decides to confront Sauron, baiting him through the Palantír.

He sees the Eye.

Aragorn : Long have you hunted me. Long have I eluded you. No more. (He shows the sword of Elendil to Sauron). Behold the Sword of Elendil.

As a revenge, the Dark Lord leads Aragorn into believing that Arwen has died.

The Evenstar falls down and breaks.

As the others march to the Black Gates, a depressed Éowyn watches from the house of the healing. Faramir joins her.

Éowyn : The city has fallen silent. There is no warmth left in the sun. It grows so cold.
Faramir : It's just the damp of the first spring rain. I do not believe this darkness will endure.

They hold their hands and wait for what ever comes, together.

Frodo and Sam are dressed up as Orcs.

Sam : Look, the Orcs... They're moving off. You see, Mr. Frodo... some luck at last.
Orc : Move it, you slugs ! Come on ! Faster !

Orcs are coming to Frodo and Sam. They try to hide behind a rock.

Orc : Come along, you scum... I'll whip you down to the bone, you... Come on ! What have I told you ?! (He sees Frodo and Sam) Get up ! Come on, you slugs ! You two are going straight to the front line ! Now, move it ! Go on ! Fall in ! Move it !

Frodo and Sam are forced to march with the rest of the Orcs that are going to battle at the Black Gate.

Orc : To the Gate, you slugs ! Now, move it !

We see a shot of Aragorn riding.

Orc : Company, halt ! Inspection !
Frodo : Sam, help me.
Sam : Mr. Frodo ! Stand up, Mr. Frodo. Stand up !
Frodo : It's so heavy.

The leading Orc smells the air.

Sam : Oh, no.

The leading Orc starts to suspect them and comes forward.

Sam : What do I do ? What do we do ?
Frodo : Hit me.
Sam : What ?
Frodo : Hit me, Sam. Start fighting.
Sam : Get off of me ! Nobody pushes me, you filthy maggot.

The Orcs start to fight.

Sam : Get off of me !
Orc : Break it up ! Break it up !

Leading Orc : Oi ! I'll have your guts if you don't shut this rabble down !
Frodo : Go, Sam. Now !

Frodo and Sam can escape unnoticed in the middle of the confusion.

The small group, led by Aragorn, ride to the Black Gate to call the Lord of the Black Land to face them. The Mouth of Sauron comes to meet them instead.

Mouth of Sauron : My master, Sauron the Great, bids you welcome. Is there any in this rout with the authority to treat with me ?
Gandalf : We do not come to treat with Sauron... faithless and accursed. Tell your master this : The armies of Mordor must disband. He is to depart these lands, never to return.
Mouth of Sauron : Old Greybeard. I have a token I was bidden to show thee. (He holds Frodo's Mithrill clothe).
Pippin : Frodo.

The Mouth Of Sauron throws the Mithrill vest to Gandalf, who catches it.

Pippin : Frodo !
Gandalf : Silence.
Merry : No !
Gandalf : Silence !
Mouth of Sauron : The Halfling was dear to thee, I see. Know that he suffered greatly at the hands of his host. Who would've thought one so small could endure so much pain ? And he did, Gandalf. He did.

Aragorn rides forward to the Mouth of Sauron.

Mouth of Sauron : And who is this ? Isildur's heir ? It takes more to make a king than a broken Elvish blade.

Aragorn cuts the Mouth of Sauron's head with his sword.

Gimli : I guess that concludes negotiations.
Aragorn : I do not believe it. I will not.

Sam is carrying Frodo. Gollum appears on top of a rock above the Hobbits.

Gollum : Clever Hobbits, to climb so high !

He jumps on Frodo, and pulls him off of Sam's back. He tries to strangle Frodo.

Gollum : Musn't go that way. Musn't hurt the precious.
Frodo : You swore ! You swore on the precious ! Sméagol promised !
Gollum : Sméagol lied.

The scene continues like in the theatrical edition.
