The second instalment of the Lord Of The Rings trilogy... The Fellowship has been broken. Boromir is dead and Gandalf has fallen down in the depth of Moria. Frodo (Elijah Wood) and Sam (Sean Astin) continue on to Mordor in their mission to destroy the One Ring. The original bearer of the Ring, the creature Gollum (Andy Serkis), has tracked them down in search of his Precious but is captured by the Hobbits, who force him to lead them to Mordor. Meanwhile, their former companions Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), Legolas (Orlando Bloom) and Gimli (John-Rhys Davies) search for Merry (Dominic Monaghan) and Pippin (Billy Boyd), who have been kidnapped by Saruman's Uruk-Hai. |

The two captives manage to escape and fall into the clutches of Treebeard, an Ent. On their side, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli make new allies in the Riders of Rohan and build up together a rebellion against Sauron, which is led by Gandalf The White. The wizard is back. The Two Towers Barad-Dur (in Mordor) and Orthanc (in Isengard) have united in their lust for destruction. Helped by the slimy Grima Wormtongue (Brad Dourif), who is also King Theoden's (Bernard Hill) consultant, Saruman has indeed built an army bent on the destruction of Man and Middle-Earth... |
