What is your character's
defining moment ?
I'm hoping it will be the killing of the With-King, but I haven't seen the movie
so I can't be sure. Either that, or probably the scene with Aragorn in the
second movie with the sword.
Describe Peter Jackson in
thre words.
Oh God, oh God... Shy. Passionate, I could say genius, really, but I don't know
whether to try... Unstoppable. Hold on, force of nature - that's it. Force of
nature.
Why do you think Rings has
been so successful ?
For so many reasons. Because it's such a great book, and then because you've got
Peter and his whole team bringing it to the screen, with the sort of integrity
and passion that they brought to the work. I think that's why it's been such a
success - and that people love the story to start with.
What is your favourite piece
of Lord Of The Rings memorabilia ?
My sword. They gave me a belt as well, but probably, the sword - the sword was
the best thing to have.
Which of the other roles
would you like to have played ?
God, I change this all the time. Not that I could have played him, but it would
be fun to be Gandalf.
What was the toughest thing
you had to do ?
Picking up the script changes, actually. Also leaving when we finished the
original shoot.
How does it fee to say
goodbye ?
You know, it was sadder than I thought it would be. I mean, if you want to see
people you will always see people again, so that doesn't have to be the end of
that at all. I think there's a good sense of achievement. We've been with it for
three years now - longer for some people - and there's a great sense of
achievement in actually having finished it, the fact that it's actually going
out with 100 per cent energy still attached to it instead of it dragging on for
a long time.
