+ Oath Fëanor : An oath taken by Fëanor and his sons in the city of Tirion. They swore in the name of Ilúvatar that they would not rest until the three Silmarils, which had been stolen by Morgoth, were in their hands. Driven by that Oath Fëanor led the greater part of the Noldor out of Aman and back to Middle-earth to chase Morgoth. Later one of the Silmarils was saved by Beren and Luthien. |

+ Old Forest : A remnant of the great forests of Middle-Earth in the Second Age. Most of these forests were felled by the Númenóreans but the Old Forest and the Forest Fangorn remained. In the Old Forest there lived Tom Bombadil, whom the Hobbits met on their way to Bree. |

+ Olórin : Another name for Gandalf. |

+ Olwë : Brother of Elwë and the second leader of the Noldor. |

+ Ondolindë : Another name for Gondolin, it means "Rock of the Music of Water". |

+ Orodreth : He was the son of Finarfin and the younger brother of Finrod. He ruled in Nargothrond after Finrod was lost in the dungeons of Tol-in-Gaurhoth. |

+ Ossë : He was a Maiar and the vassal of Ulmo. His wife was called Uinen. |

+ Ossiriand : Also called the Land of the Seven Rivers. Ossiriand was a realm that laid in Beleriand between the Blue Mountains and the river Gelion. After the destruction of Beleriand, the part that was left of Ossiriand was called Lindon. |

+ Outer Land : A name for Middle-Earth used by the Valar and the Elves of Aman for the lands outside the Guarded Realm. |
