The One Ring from Badali Jewelry Reviewed

This One Ring is fashioned from bronze and plated in 24K gold. The Elvish script is deeply engraved into the ring and on the outer surface, reads; "One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them". The inside script reads; "One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them".

The ring itself measures approximately 14mm OD (outer diameter) by 7mm wide and 2mm thick. This roughly corresponds to a ring size of 10 (US measurements) and is shipped with a gold plated removable 24" chain.

This version of the One Ring is intended to be worn as a pendant rather than as a ring, and therefore only comes in one size. It is well made, and the gold plating is reported by several individuals to be still completely intact after several months of use. The engraved characters are quite clear and legible with the makers mark on the inside of the ring. The makers mark and © are small and provide only a minor distraction from the script. The thin gold plated necklace is also well constructed and sturdy enough not to come apart under normal use.

Advantages: Price. This version of the One Ring affordably retails in the neighborhood of $40-60 (US), which is about 5-10% of the cost of the solid gold (14-22kt.) rings.

Disadvantages: The ring is supplied with a thin gold plated necklace that is very different in appearance from the necklace warn by Frodo in movies or books.

Disclaimer: This ring is intended to be worn as a pendant rather than as a ring. Since it is made of gold plated bronze, wearing it as a ring will probably cause one's finger to turn green. Substituting a silver necklace for the provided gold one is not recommended as silver is harder than gold and will wear off the gold plating on the ring faster. Needless to say, throwing the ring into a fire and expecting it to remain cool, or thinking that the ring will grant one powers is extremely ludicrous…
