Photos from the Weta Workshop exhibition at Leeds Armouries.

Leeds Royal Armouries is hosting a Weta Workshop Arms and Armour exhibition until the 16th November, showing weapons from The Last Samurai and King Kong, along with two rooms devoted to the weapons and armour from Narnia, and Lord of the Rings. Unfortunately, photography is not allowed inside the main exhibition, but it features over 200 iconic pieces, including the weapons of Frodo, Aragorn, Gandalf, Faramir and Boromir, as well as Peter's armour and the White Witch's dagger and wand.

As well as showcasing the weapons and armour, there are also special models in the entrance hall and in one of the walkways over the main hall. You can get face to face with a full-sized Lurtz or cave troll (Yes, "They have a cave troll!" The cave troll is poorly placed, though. No-one noticed it until I (I'm ashamed to admit) squealed and took a photo).

Thanks, Arwen! And, after going onto the RA website, I've discovered that this is a ONCE ONLY exhibition. Many of these props have NEVER been displayed in public before, and they will ONLY be displayed in the Leeds Royal Armouries. It will be the only opportunity for movie buffs and the general public to see these exquisite items in the UK.

Er, it's Leeds, not London, but it's easy enough to get there from London, I suppose. I think the reason the exhibition is so long is because nowhere else is going to show this.
