I personally love how all the dwarf's have back stories, how they are going to their old kingdom to claime their treasure, and how poor bilbo is dragged along:rolleyes:

Now, gandalf being of the Istari, mentions his cousin rhadaghast whilst talking to beorn, how many istari are their? Him , The brown and Saruman, but did tolkien ever specify any others??

also, i've always wondered what it would be like to have a community of hobbits, that would be awsome, smoke weed, get drunk, eat lots of meals and never have a care in the world, yet theres something about the story that transfixes us on a personal level. Whats yours??

I like the part when all the dwarves come out of nowhere into Bilbo's house and he's all confused :)

I must admit I've never really liked TH a lot... I liked the way Bilbo found the way in to the dragon and their first encounter, rest of the book wasn't much of a page-turner for me. Community of Hobbits would be something to enjoy once in a while, for a lifestyle probably a bit too ineventful.

As for the Istari, they were five in total, the two missing shared a colour, the blue, and were named Alatar and Pallando. That's about all that is known of them.
