Chat meeting

As almost no one gets on the chat most of the time I had the idea to gather some of you in the chat at least once (or maybe once a week if it works (:

During the weekend most of us have free time and it won't hurt if you spend an hour or so to meet some of the the people you meet every day in the forums a bit closer! Chat can be a nice addition to the forum.

I suggest 7pm GMT /1pm Eastern US on Saturday. The most suitable time I could think of, regarding the different timezones we have.

Post whether you can attend and any suggestions you have ((:

Since this is my realm i'll add my two pennys worth :)

For those people using mIRC, the server is irc.sorcery.net on port 6667. The room is #WarOfTheRing.

For those that want it there is a Tolkien trivia bot hanging around to try and stump you all, those that have played it will agree its quite addictive ;)

It would be excellent if we can get 20 or so people in the chat and a few of the staff to put an appearance in. If it goes well hopefully people will start to come in more often.

REMEMBER: Chat is there all the time! :) So when your browsing the forums, drop by and say hello!

erm... I can't access the chat rooms... I get an error message... erm... yeah... but well... its weird because that stuff isn't on my computer and... yeah.

Tar-Ancalime: Go to www.mirc.com and download the lastest version. Install ect and load it up. You'll get a box asking for details, fill it in and select 'Random SorceryNet Server' from the drop down menu. Click connect and once connected type /join #WarOfTheRing. See you there :)

Thanks Aragorn! Yes I think a weekly chat night would be good. Get everyone into the swing of it. I fyou have troubels getting setup or in then let us know and we will help.

We will also be runnign a few cometitions exclusivly via the chat in the future. Plus its good to meet people visiting the site and fromt he forums.

yeah i think its a great idea...the chat gets seriously underused....and just to any one who hasnt tried IRC before......there are some here i know....its not as hard as it looks,and its a lot of fun

Thanks to everyone who showed up at the chat meeting today. Big success!! We had so many people Fatty had a heart attack. Thanks Mirky, for the great idea.

*wanders back in* My apologises for my rather odd absence. My ISP decided i was 'abusing' the system a day before the meeting. Thankfully a nice customer service person exploited a loophole and re-activated my account today :)

So...As, i think it was catz said, drop in anytime. The meeting will be a weekly at least thing so dont despair. Unfortunately i wont be able to attend again tomorrow since im invited to some god awful party *rolls eyes*
