The best bit was definatly with Gollum. I saw it today but in a really shoddy res so it was very blurry but I could make it out. Gandalf fighting the BAlrog also looks sooo cool :thumbs:

There are screen caps that you can go to on the front page. I see Frodo and Sam MORE than once in those photos.... so I am guessing yes! And it looks great! *cries* I really do not want to wait!

*Stares at computer screen gaping.* That was the most amazing thing I have ever seen! And did see the barlog and gandalf were like coliding and spining and flipping, and Frodo lookes so sad yet trying to be brave and Elrond acting like a nit-wit telling Arwen that there was no hope, (Some gift of foresight.) and the Mark and Theoden and the awsome shots at orthanc. But Faramir. Where was Faramir!! *Tears stream down face.* he didn't get ONE shot! and he deserved it! Oh, and Eowyn! Can't forget her! She looks great and her voice is perfect. TTT yeah!!!

Comments from me: why does Gollum look a strange monkey thing? Why does Treebeard have red eyes? I won't elaborate on the Arwen thing....Yet since when does Elrond had the gift of forsight? He didn't have that last time I read the books, I think. If anyone did, 'twould be Galandriel. But why must the Elves leave Rivendell? Do they feel insecure in a nice safe valley far, FAR away from the fighting? I saw a clip of Elrond and Aragorn in the shot....flashback...or something very fishy? Hmmmm.. And what's with those Wargs? They look more like giant rats unstead of wolves to me.

Happy comments: lovin' Treebeard! And go Sam fir being so protective, and holding his master's hand! (One wonders if he'll...can it be possible?....actually have the intelligence to say "Master! Master Frodo!" Hmmm. Anyway, Helm's Deep still looks cool...man, those Orcs would make mne wet my pants if I ever met one....I'm loving Gandalf and the Balrog!! Thought at first it was our resident evil wizard meeting his film doom. But nope, just our wonderful Gandalf having a good ol' time. *grin* I like Arwen's dress! (Yes! I actually said something NICE about her! Heehee!) Let's see...Hmmm. I think that's all I've got on this front for now...

Did anyone notice the music at the end? It was the score from Requiem for a Dream. I love Requiem's score and it fit in well, but I don't like it when people borrow other films' score for trailers.

Other than that I loved it! I like how at the begining Eomer says, "All hope is forsaken" and then at the end Arwen says, "there is still hope." Then they cut to a shot of Aragorn who was given the name Estel by Elrond, which means hope! A perfect way to end the trailer.
Eowyn is perfect and, dare I say it? I think Arwen won't be so bad in the next movie. As long as they don't show her too much.

well actually, even in the book Rivendell wasnt all that safe, but since we knew that PJ had changed that bit, its not a big deal to me....and actually you dont see who that "you have the gift of foresight" line is addressed to

and treebeards eyes werent red...they looked amber to me
as for the wargs...i loved them...and they look like big hyenas as someone has said on another thread....so much more menacing than wolves....

Everyone is saying that she is talking about Aragorn AKA Estel, but if you think about it and look around on the net, it appears to me that she was saying that the only thing left to do was give Aragorn the one thing, the only 'hope' of making his way to the Throne, and that is...

ps. I think elrond might reconsider his plans on going to the grey havens and go to lothlorian instead. How do I know this?

I LOVED that pic even though it is very fuzzy. And it's so touching, you can really see that Galadriel cares for Arwen. Any way, that's why i think elrond will go to lothlorien, and because remember that in some trailers and previews we see elrond bickering with celeborn, or so we think.

I loved the new trailer. I liked the music at the end. But it seems Elrond isn't a happy camper about Aragon loving his daughter.
Gollum looks perfect and I enjoyed seeing the meeting between the warriors and the Riders. The short clip of The battle between the Balrog and Gandalf looked sweet, I hope it is expanded for the movie. :grin: The masses forming at Isengaurd were fonominal! I can't say enough about the trailer!

I thought gollum looked great, im a big fan of Alan Lee's drawings and i thought there were huge similarities.

I thought that music was new music and i loved it, but apparently it's from Requiem for a Dream (says so sumwhere in this thread i think) I was dead annoyed coz i really loved it. i was hoping for more

I also think Arwen looked better for this film. Just the way they have integrated her in i thought was good. Also i thought Eowyn was great-her face when she puts her hand to Aragorn's face-it's so full of pain, very moving.

oooooo....so excited. i wish it was december 18th!!!!!

Yeah I mean, they have until about early december to change or finish anything so there could be a chance that when we see the film gollum looks a little better (i think he looks fine ;)). Only time will tell... speaking of time only 72 days, 7 hours, 22 minutes and 13 seconds to go :) :) :) :) ;)

The trailer IS awesome. It looks like TTT will have tonnes more epic scope than FOTR. I DO agree, Eowyn DOES look fabulous, and Arwen doesn't seem half bad after all.

Although I LOVED Gollum (he was SOOOOO freaky), I thought the Wargs were a bit too CGI-ish. I don't know. Maybe it's just me.

Anyway, I CAN'T WAIT! It just keeps getting better and better!

Bono's girl - I so agree with you on the Aragorn bit at the end - how cool does that look!! I think thats my fav part.

I think it'll be absolultely awesome whatever changes PJ has made. Like in FOTR, none of the changes he made ruined the film, IMO.

are you sure you do have to wait Daisy? id get in touch with the local movie theatre group if i were you, cos i got told the same for the the NZ release ie: that it would be on the 26th...and i got this reply when i queried it with Village Force:

The release date for The Two Towers is 19 December. We will be looking at
putting tickets on-sale about four weeks before it releases, but a date
still hasn't been confirmed yet.

It has been confirmed that Helm's Deep will be 15 minutes long and start about half an hour from the end of the film, not 45 minutes as some rumours have been saying.

I downloaded the Trailer from the Official Site, well both of them. There both totally cool. Just watching them makes it hard to wait until the Movie comes out. It really sucks cause once I've seen The Two Towers I'll have to wait another year to see Raturn of the king.:(

I think at this point I just have to fall back on the knowledge that PJ and Co. wouldn't construct such a anticipated set piece without giving the audience something spectacular.

As with so many things I'm going to have wait and see. (Although at this point it would be highly preferable to undergo a period of hybernation until Dec. 18) :snooze: How I wish I was a bear.

15 min is better than 50. i mean, we dont want a war movie. 50 would just be rediculous. in the book its what, 13 or 14 pages... out of about 1000 all together lol

I am not worrying to much anymore. I trust to PJ from what I've heard of all the movie crew they say it is going to be awesome, and a lot better than FOTR.... they say the fans should be more than satisfied. I think PJ is making up for Sarumans death by making everything else better and more real. Which is what he SHOULD be doing, but I think... yeah never mind

It would not make sense to show it in book order - its 2 different mediums and it would not have worked. There is no way of saying on film, eg the bit where Frodo and Sam are at the falling statue of the King, and Tolkien writes that at the same time, this was happening in Minis Tirith...... (I know thats probobly incorrect but I can't remember exactly what goes on, and hopfully you'll catch my meaning). The only way to show the timing, is to keep having flashbacks to Helms Deep or whatever, and I don't really want to see flashbacks of things we've seen 20 minutes previously - how boring and tedious would that get? Or if PJ hadn't bothered saying this is what was happening at this time, it would just get really confusing.

I love lord of the rings and cant wait untill ttt comes out unfortunetly i live in australia and have to wait until dec 26 so you should all think yourselves lucky i have to wait a few extra days i also trust the peter jackson has the movie so it makes sense as Daisy Gamgee said It would not make sense to show it in book order - its 2 different mediums and it would not have worked.

Kylie this has come up before and i dont think thats the case. Im in NZ and got told the same thing but when i queried it, i was told the the opening date was 19th Dec, which keeps it in line with the Northern Hemisphere.....the release may in fact be delayed in Aussie but i cant see it....not with the rest of the world on the 18th/19th....id check with your local cinema group if i were you...

Kylie and Catz. Since you two are from Australia and NZ respectively, maybe you know the answer to this. I have watched the trailer, and a few weeks ago I saw an IMAX movie called "Australia" in which they showed a view of some marshlands that looked extremely just like the marshland view in the TTT trailer. Is it the same location shot, do you think?

I'm not sure if they shot any scenes in Oz, so I doubt it would be the same ones that they shot in NZ, in a film about Oz. Other thatn that, can't help you sorry:grin:

i think i know the movie youre taking about Miruvor and no i think it was shot in Aussie...theres strong simliarities in the vegetation and so on in some regions of Ausssie and NZ, tho NZ is classified as Temperate climatically.

The scene in the trailer would not have had to be location 'filming', necessarily. It could have been pictures pasted together, (obviously since the matte painted line of the moutain range bordering Mordor were pasted at the top of the marshes). They could have sent a photographer over to AU to get the pics.
Anyway, I am surprized you are a temparate climate, since on the map NZ looks so close to Antarctica. Are you all worried about that Ozone hole drifting over you? :cool:

There's a poster with just that picture of Frodo on it, and then Sam and Frodo in the corner and Frodo is clutching at the ring... very nice poster - I really want it. (If I could find a place that sells it)

it's because of the way the ring gain power on him. In fact, Frodo is getting paranoid, thinking that everyone wants the ring. :-(

Thats the thing about maps - they can very easily fool you as to the sizes and distances. When I was moving to Oz from the Uk, heaps of people asked me if we would be affected by the bush fires in New South Wales, thinking it was just round the corner, when in fact its over a thousand kilometres away.
And I think, being in South Australia, we're pretty close to that hole so its a case of staying in at midday or covering up, not that the aussies let it spoil their fun! But the hole is apparently shrinking which is good news!!:thumbs:

Daisys right.........lotsa empty ocean between us and antartica, tho it doesnt look that way on the map...parts of NZ are even sub tropical, at least in a horticultural sense.....a bit further north than where i am.

The Trailer is great! An Oliphant, Wargs, Shadowfax, Ents, horseback fight scenes, and Gollum! This has really gotten my blood boiling to see the movie. I wish the trailer was longer and didn't flash the scenes so quickly! :thumbs: :thumbs:

Hey, guess what? Last night during a comercial break my brothers and I saw a TTT trailer. this one was new though it was mostly stuff we had already seen from the other three trailers. And when we went to the movie thearter a week ago, I saw Posters for TTT, Yeah!!!!
