okay so here i want to talk about the works of the band called Summoning [melodic black metal], who's music is entirely based on JRRT.
But before i do that i want to ask are there any fans of Summoning here?

I'm really into what's commonly called "Death Rock"......Sisters of Mercy, Jane's Addiction, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, etc..:evilcool:

BUT...I may just have to sample some of that "melodic black metal"......:naughty:

Fatty you asked how metal are they
well the music they make has the typical black metal vocals but is really enriched with various drum melodies and interesting sort of untypical for that genre guitars. There is a lot of melody and a prfound sound. The music is great i hotly recommend you hear that band if you like metal music [that concerns you my buddy ILUU]

Well....

The Lady Arien and I sampled a couple of songs from these guys last night. We listened to Flight of the Nazgul and Nightshade something or other.

This was a little bit too much "speed metal" for our taste. The singer definetly sounded like gollum though! lol

When you mentioned "black metal", I was expecting something dark and gothic like Sisters of Mercy or Bauhaus, but what we got was something like Slayer and Exodus.

no no no this is no speed metal
that's a whole new genre
this is black metal vocals and some interesting innovations for that type of music. But it is black metal .
Well i like em much and wanted to share. :)

Hope you weren't very shocked :)
The black metal singing is not for everybody's ears :)

I am a huge Summoning fan, I own all of their albums. If you were to describe them, I think symphonic black metal band would be the best description.
