There's is nothing wrong with liking Haldir. The guy is by no means bad. The guy who played him in the movie could've been better, but that's besides the point. Leggie, I love. We won't go there. Now, Arwen, on the other hand, is a complete Mary-Sue! Even Tolkien created one! She has NO flaws! Annoying as hell. She's got my vote, baby!

What's the problem with this? They say soemthing for the young/old men ;). Wiser? No practical skill tho... listening to him he wouldn't have been able to handle Gondor. Faramir's knowledge come from wanderers, Aragorn's come from the oldest and most powerful elves Elrond and Galadriel

Hate is such a strong term. How can one hate someone who has no affect on their lives or the lives of the people they love! What has Legolas Arwen or Haldir done to the the People I love in the books to warrant my hate? I see dissatisfaction in Haldir because he's a bossy so and so and I wouldn't dare hold angry feelings against Legolas. As for Arwen, she's kind of the chosen one so to speak! Yes, Saruman is helping him, which makes him pretty bad - Saruman's on his way up in the evil stakes, developing his nastiness, honing his cruelty - but Sauron is the original baddie.

Actually, Morgoth is the original baddie, but he's long gone. Sauron started out as a mere servant to Morgoth, and look at him now! He has his own dark tower and hordes of orcs! That's what dedication to the cause will do for you. Saruman has a long way to go yet.

actually, Morgoth isnt even in the lotr books. He's the main bad guy in the Silmarillion... he's one of the Valar, the gods, but he turns evil... Sauron is one of the Maiar, servants of the gods... he's Morgoth's prime servant... when the other gods got together and defeated Morgoth, Sauron pretended to turn to good and so he was not defeated... eventually he got his own back, though, he corrupted the men of the second age, and went to middle earth to try and take it over... this is where the prologue to the movie comes in... and the movie tells the rest :p

basically Morgoth was the evilest of all them, but i dont hate him... hes pretty cool actually, gotta love a guy who can kick such elven butt :evilcool:

Well sadly I voted for Ar*cough*wen. I mean I liked her fine in the books but everyone is just making such a big deal about her in the movies. She doesn't really save Frodo from the Nazgul in the books either. Also is it just me or does it seem like she gets way more publicity than some of the characters who have much bigger roles? I mean look at the movie poster, her picture is huge, it's bigger than Legolas's for example and he is a much bigger part of the story.
