Wich is the best looking? BTW, someone important is missing; the winged beasts. And were are all the new images they promised us?

Gollum for me because we didn't really see Treebeard.

:mmmm: I think I will go with Gollum. I loved both the Wargs and the Mumak but the shots were very brief and the Wargs in particular were racing past the camera making it all the more difficult. I second Quickbeam on Treebeard - lower limbs and a forearm don't count. I thought the recent picture of him was beautiful, however. The Balrog, like the Wargs, was also a quickie which leaves Gollum.

Yes I went for Gollum too. He looks great so far. I think the Mumakil will be tops too, but it is an easy one with likes of Jurassic park etc plus they have real elephants to model it on. The wargs looked the ones at roughest stage, though thankfully they do have wolves heads and not somekind of monster.
I hope the formatiosn Aragorn sees are polished too, they looked very fake. Actually I loved the formations in Sparticus, but that was doen with real people not cgi.
Looking a visual feast though, and hopefully no turkeys like Legolas on top of the Troll or the running over bridge scene. :-)

I also went for Gollum as like Hans_Schuder said, the Wargs were racing past the camera.I am assuming that PJ will be leaving the return of the nazgul to ROTK, unless he is just going to surprise us

Ah no I believe the winged steeds are in TTT, from an interview I read by the chap working on them. he said they were terrifying dragon like. Said a huge shocker to people!

If they look like these paintings by mr.Howe, I would go nuts with happines. John Howe is the best Tolkien artist there is.

I agree, Keverz, Howe's Nazgul paintings are great! I think there is a good chance they'll look like his in the film, in the Officila Movie Guide they compare a lot of shots from the first film with Howe's paintings, and how similar they are. There is a full page painting of Howe's winged Nazgul, the second one you posted, I believe. Definately not proof, but a good indication.
Well, Quickbeam, I remeber one time we hear it while Frodo and Sam are crossing the Emyn Muil, but from then on I tend to get lines crossed with Rotk and get mixed up. Someone else can answer you better most likely. In any case, no one can say exactly when they'll be seen in the film, PJ and co. tend to mix it around a little.

They must be something special as they're about the only thing we haven't already seen. We've seen the balrog, gollum, treebeard, mumak and wargs but no nazgul. They must be pretty darn cool.

Quickbeam, we haven't got a clue as to where we are going to see them. I do think I know how they're gonna look like. Go to fan.theonering.net/rolozo and look for John Howe. He creates the design of the evil things in LOTR. Check out his impressions of the wingerd nazgul.(the other drawings are also very beautiful).

definetly, that is such a beautiful picture. Now I'm wondering, was that CGI or make-up. I really want to know. If it is a computer animation, than it's the best I've ever seen.

I found gollum to be the best CGI creature in the trailer but i agree with tar, he is not the nicest of fellows(I voted for him anyway;))
book spoilers
hey Quickbeam, all I can say is from the book the nazgul are spoted 5 times at a distance, the first is on the night pippin looks into the palantir and the second later on that night over Edoras. The other three times are over sam and frodo in the dead marshes, where they are stated as 'flying high and fast over head'. Also the witch king is seen riding out of minas morgul, I don't remember if it states what his steed was.

treebeard is definitely the best looking cgi character.in the trailer, you couldn´t see very much, but the photo in the gallery is wonderful.but gollum will be great, too.

Hoom... I thought Treebeard's Merry-Pippin holding CGI was shoddy compared to Gollum, but no matter, I'll be in happy land for both Gollum and Treebeard (favorite book moments- guilty pleasure- UNG!)
Gollum looks the best, no matter how Ent biased I may be.
