WarRingers,
For those of you who actually play the Trading Card Game, please use this thread to record your best strategies and card combos so that we all may benefit and become more proficient! I've got a box of Elf-Lords waiting on me down at the local hobby store and I'll try a few different mixes myself soon!

Most of these are for Open play format (both sets, Two Towers sites)
Here's a nice one for an Isengard deck (if you run Grima Wormtongue). The card text says spot three cards on a companion to return all Free People's cards to owner's hand. Therefore, stacking weary, leechcraft, Many ridles, etc. on a character with two cards makes him vulnerable to Grima. Even better, it only returns the Free people's cards to hand, while the weary or Many Riddles still stays there screwing over the companion.
If you're playing Rohan, a nice trick is togive Theoden Herugrim and Hearken to me. Ths makes him Grima Wormtongue proof (Hearken to Me revents any shadow conditions from being played on Theoden) and makes him a Strength 10 Vitality 4 character.
The days of Super Aragorn and Boromir are over. Players are no longer safe stacking Ranger Sword, Flaminf Brand, Saga o Elendil, and Armor on Aragorn. Instead, stack all your uber-powerful weapons and conditions on Faramir, as he is immune to Grima. Giving Faramir a Sword of Gondor, Faramir's bow, Coat of Mail or Armor, Horse of Rohan, Saga of Elendil, Boromir my brother, flaming brand makes a very powerful character. (plus, a character with seven support cards stacked on him is a very impressive sight)
Their Arrows Enrage has been all but forgotten, it was a virtually useless card when it came out. Now, though, when People play with Legolas Greenleaf, Aragorn and his bow, and Faramir with his bow, dropping four Their Arrows Enrage can be fatal. (In LOTR everything is cumulative, thus, every archer is strength negative four)

I think the Uruks are the best shadow culture, because nearly all have damage+1 and with site control there are fierce and stronger. nazgul are also quite good.
But why is the culture sauron so bad? maybe in the third one.

Yes, Gandalf the white can be improved by many spells conditions and artifacts making him a great part of any Free Deck

Personally, I've found that combining villains who support eacch other works well-for example, Nazgul or Moria Archers( they give+1 archery to each other, for those who have not played them!!) :)
I'm a little out of practice, myself, though...Haven't played in a while- serious lack of free time!!! http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/q/frown.gif

For Shadow I use Beseigers, a handfull of trolls, Sauron and a few threat adding minions from Moria with a low twilight cost.
I use for free people usually Rohan, but the elves are quite fast moving. With the 'Mount Doom' expansion, the possession based Rohan is harder with these new Mordor Uruk-Hai and Nazgûll Orcs. The Mordor Uruk-Hai are now all Damage +1.
I like the sites best from the King block, as they benefit Rohan the best. I found it useful to use Théoden, Tall and Proud with Éowyn, Dernhelm as starters, then at about site 5 let Théoden be killed so that you can use another Rohan companion, which I choose Éomer, Keeper of Oaths, to draw 10 cards to keep the possessions found, thus getting my mounts all in. Your opponent´s minion must exert instantly with these horses (They are bad on enduring minions though, careful whom you assign!)
With the Elves, I really like Glorfindel and Arwen, Fair Elf Maiden for starters. Both are quite strong. My favourite set to play is King block and with Reflections and elves.
This is my first post here, so I will leave it at this.

I use(d) Elves (ofcourse) and Nazgul.
My current deck is an Elven Archery/Nazgul corrupt-wound deck.
My starting companions are
* Legolas, Son Of Thranduil. Very usefull with all those forest and rivers, double archery
* Galadriel, Bearer Of Wisdow. just because I don't want to put another culture in my deck for the ring-bearer
* Arwen, Queen Of Elves And Men. She's my main fighter, since most minions skirmishing her will be strength -x
for the rest my Free People is filled with a few companions, 4 Elven bows, Legolas' bow, 2 skirmish events and lots of cards to add to the fellowship archery total.
My Shadow deck stuffed with Nazgul from the Shadows starter deck, and some minions and ofcourse cards like Blade Tip and Black Breath.
I don't win much with this deck, but I manage keep (most of) my fellowship alive and kill his big fighting companions.
The things that ruin my deck are Uruk-hai because of their damage +1. And Dwarves with their damage +x and too much vitality and invincible Durin (who overwhelmed my Witch King once :( ).
I was planning to quit card games because I could use the money and it's a very timestealing hobby, but when I wrote all this down I realiser I couldn't depart from my Elves and their archery.
Now, I look forward to buying Elladan and Elrohir, they look awesome.
Gildor Inglorion is very usefull too.
:archer: :elfqueen: gotta rebuild my deck later on tonight :)
