Rivendell!
But seriously... :) ...For the moment, I currently reside in the South Western region of California, yet I'm originally from the Pacific North West.
Yet, I hope to return soon. I prefer living up north anyway. The weather, as well as the scenery, is nicer. It's more like Middle-Earth.
Hopefully, I would like to live in the United Kingdom some day. :)

I absolutely NEED to go on a Middle Earth inspired holiday in New Zealand!
I have recently acquired a map of N.Z., which highlights every location where the LOTR trilogy was filmed.
I believe it's time I put that map to good use and go on a N.Z./M.E. road trip!

I live in Essex, England...and i would like to put to rest any of the ESSEX-GIRL jokes you have heard...ask gandalf if u wanna know...which u DON'T!
lol Anyway...i live next to a nature reserve and a field and woods...it's very quiet...but also walking distance from a supermarket...it's a funny existance! Walk in one direction you're in a field...in the other direction you're in Tesco! roflmao
Though...as SOME people might know...i regard myself as welsh. It is where my parents are from and my whole family...where my roots are. I would prefer to live there...it's so beautiful. Of course...some parts of england are beautiful too...but wales seems to provide a bit more of it. :dragon:
(Plus...if any one lives in italy...should i go to venice for a weekend...or rome?) :p

hehehe, no essex girl jokes, well not here anyway, most of them would be x-rated if they came from me.
i can see why you would like where you live Pil but i'm a much bigger fan of living in a big city, everything i could want is near and i like a loud lifestyle, pubs, clubs, football matches and more pubs so i don't think i can live anywhere too picturesque. :)

Hey y'all, I'm from L.A.....lol.....Lower Alabama, USA that is.... The land of peanuts, and cotton. I've lived here for nearly twelve years, and I'm allergic to peanut dust. I am originally from Korea. I was adopted at the age of three by an American military family. I lived in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, for a little while before we packed up and moved South. And despite my chagrin, I am beginning to seriously speak like the natives. Hopefully, I won't mimic the intelligence level as well. lol No, I'm serious! People here are so stupid! ANNOUNCEMENT:
In regards to the WotR Intl. Oscar Party, Catz and I have decided if all whom are interested in gathering together with fellow site members in our local areas for LOTR celebrations on Oscar night, then you should post your general location on this thread (if you have not already done so) and continue to browse this forum to see who's lives within a considerable distance to where you are located and contact via Private Message to that individual to see if they're interested in starting a local Oscar party in the area.
A thread in the Announcements section similar to this message will soon be posted by myself, so site members can arrange their meetings for Oscar night. :)

If any of you live within an hour or 2 drive from manchester, I recommend the Trafford Centre for shopping - its definately a good place to while away a day while blowing a bit of money - its got a Selfridges which is really good (if only i had the money!). manchester city centre is really good aswell, and its tons nicer since the bomb - and its got another selfridges - the only 2 outside of london (or at least they were in April)

Well, I was not far from your place, I lived in North York 3 months and then afterthat I moved with some friends to Pickering, we went to a bar once in Ajax and there was these phones at each table so guys could flirt this way, I was always the one answering (and each time I answered in French so the guys kept hanging out) lol ;)
Too bad you never been here, NEVER ??? even at spring break...folks from Ontario use to party a lot here at spring break... :guzzle::guzzle:
Well Quebec is a nice place to visit, a little bit of Europe in North America ... most people here are bilingual they are happy to speak English with you especially if you drop two or three lines in French... ;)
Is it still warm in Toronto ??? Gee, here it is like 10 Celsius the morning, 27 C in the afternoon.... we all got cold and cant stop sneezing:(

My party days are now over :entdraught: I look alot younger than my age but I am way to old to be in a club! Oh, well this happened what....8 years ago, I was 19 (feel old already .mecry )..My party days are now over too... well, mostly for clubs... I understand the rest thing, I have a son of 19 months so .:nono:...and single mom... not easy and not much time for mummy...:(
I wish I could get an 8 hours night sleep :snooze:
Well, for the trip to Quebec, if you do come, let me know if you need a translator... or touristic guide...:)

That sounds like a great idea :) when I make that trip to Quebec I would definately let you know, that would be a good idea sense I don't know anyone!!! Also our kids can keep eachother company while we have a pint or two entdraught Us single parents must stick together! My son loves "The Rings" as he calls it, he thinks he's an Orc!!! Does your son watch the movie? PS Hang in their girl, you will soon get plenty of sleep :snooze:.............change his sleeping pattern. I found that be getting lots of sleep and taking an hour each day for myself (I go to the gym after work everyday to unwind and de-stress before I pick up my son from daycare) that I find helps me stay sane and focused veryhappy Next summer the little guys should be old enough to go to Canada's Wonderland, let me know when you plan on going!!

I was adopted at the age of three by an American military family. I lived in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, for a little while before we packed up and moved South. And despite my chagrin, I am beginning to seriously speak like the natives. Hopefully, I won't mimic the intelligence level as well. No, I'm serious! People here are so stupid! yeah. We're best mates. For some reason! She lives nextdoor but one from my cousins, and down the road from a crazy person who sits there quoting Lotr and making orc faces. not to mention snorting rubber. Its an estate full of wierdo's, i assure you

It's like that pretty much wherever you live...unless you're bonos-girl...cos she lives in a house in the middle of no-where...:batty: lol
I live in...well...a pretty much normal area...i'm at the top of a housing estate so it's pretty far away from the main road and shops and stuff...though recently some guys have been lighting fires in the woods nearby (cos my house opens onto a field)...and we might have to call the police... :o :(

Watch out when it's bonfire night! :o

We don't get bonfire night in Oz (i suppose they can't risk setting fire to the trees) and thats a shame coz i like fireworks and sparklers and black peas :(
I think most housing estates are the same in England. Before we left in February, somebody held up our local Alldays with a screwdriver !! so now they have security guards there at night :o . lol

WITH A SCREWDRIVER!? Nobody here does stuff like that! Thats crazy! The petrol station got robbed though. But that was at knifepoint. But screwdrivers can be dangerous i suppose. Have you seen Speed? The guy jabs a screwdriver in someones head!

Well i guess the robber was imaginative!! lol...that is sooo amusing!! what did he do...point it at the shopkeeper or something!!!
Daisy Gamgee
October 11th,2002, 01:54 AM
I dunno, i unfortunatly wasn't there at the time, but the lady in the shop is really soft, so it probably didn't take much to scare her into handing the money over. It had us laughing for a couple of days tho (and one of the security gaurds they got, was really quite cute;) )

I live in the high north, Tromsø in Norway. Small city, but very lively! People here are very friendly, and like to go out a lot, so there are LOTS of pubs and disco'a and cafe`s. Part of the winter is dark as in a sack, and in summer the sun never sets. If you've seen "Insomnia", you get the picture. I love it here, even if the weather is extreme at times...

I want to go back to Scotland sooooooo bad but I love me little town here in sunny CA.
It's constantly hot but El Nino is sweeping by so we're likely to get some rain (we just had an ENORMOUS fire that lasted for over a week). The people are mostly friendly and the mountains to the north are magnificent and glow at night when blanketed with snow. Me town almost reminds me of hobbiton. Most of the houses are "English-styled" homes with colourful gardens and quaint little fences. There are numerous fields of grass and various kinds of trees where the coyotes have made their homes. About an hour or more from me town is the beach which displays beautiful pink and orange sunsets....

Wow...snow...it's been a long time since i've seen any decent snow...last time was when i was two...and i remember little...lol...whenever we get so-called snow it's always turned into yellow-grey sluchy nonsense by lunchtime and is gone by the evening...and over night we get flooding...nice...
Can't we have a decent snow fall one year...please... mecry
Nessa the Dancer

The only time when I remember a decent snow fall was ages ago when I was in junior school it was THIS deep and we all got a few days off school.
Me, my brother and a few friends went and played in the forest all morning.
We've had some pretty good falls since, but none as good.

And whereabouts should I send all this snow yall want? I can assure you, I'll have no deliveryproblems what so ever, there'll be heaps and heaps of it in notime! Be sure to deposit one heatwave per delivery, but delay the payment 'till next summer, please... In the meanwhile, I'll be outside shuffling...by the way, why aren't there any snowgoons on the smileylist?

What did you get up to during freshers week?

omg erm where to start.....
quizzes, clubs, pubs, pub crawl around york and a separate one around york campus. erm..... parties till 4 in the morning.....trying not to lock myself out of the room.....(the door locks when you close it so you have to have your keys with you all the time :( ) I'm sure I will have locked myself out before too long
joining clubs, getting freebies, listening to boring talks and starting lectures :snooze: lots of fresher things basically. so much fun. :p
plus I met Aranel and introduced her to this site. I finally found someone who likes lotr as much as me. :whoohoo:

Ah, listening to you is making me reminescent of my first year mecry
I'm actually starting uni again next feb (i dropped out last time for various reasons) but I don't think Aussies have the same sort of uni life as we did back in the Uk, as they all live at home, but it should be good anyway, and I could always introduce them to some English ways!
