TheRingBearer
October 17th,2002, 07:24 PM
I have heard about all of them apart from the Inspector gadget one :elfeek: that's just too much.
Ronin
October 17th,2002, 08:52 PM
looking forward to all except for the first four :p
tho still holding out hope for Shrek....Charlies Angels, Tomb Raider, and Inspector Gadget were dead and gone from the minute they were first released ;)

youre just prejudiced against the Ogre:rolleyes: :p  tho i agree about CA....cant believe they actually wanna produceanother one....wasnt the first one abysmal enough??:)lol
as for LOTR i wouldnt call TTT and ROTK sequels really....a sequel is an addtion where these movies are continuations of the same piece....LOTR isnt 3 3hour movies.....its one 9 hour plus:drool: movie, in three parts.....cant wait until it can be seen that way either.....WOOHOO:hooray: marathon showings lol roflmao lol
:catz:
Ronin
October 18th,2002, 06:09 PM
i quite like the ogre actually...big and green, my kind of guy  :p
and most definitely aye...as the book shouldn't be considered a trilogy...so shouldn't the movie. i'm still trying to find out if rumors of a reissuing of FOTR before TTT breaks is true...now that would truly be wicked cool. and those theatres that shall offer FOTR...TTT...ROTK right after the other...for ya gotta know there'll be some type of demand...i bow to'em :gofatty: notworthy
Catz
October 18th,2002, 08:01 PM
there is a re release planned in some places, yes...that has been confirmed, but its by no means universal, which is a pity...mmmmm i really want to see these movies the way theyre meant to be seen....all together, as a single piece heheheh...ill just go drool in the corner, shall i? roflmao
oh and i cant wait to see the X Men sequel either.....hey does anyone know if Nightcrawler is in definitely? hope so hes my fave.....hehehe a prehensile tail just has to be good!!:naughty: ;) lol
:catz:
Ronin
October 19th,2002, 02:35 PM
yeah, so i've heard about the re-release...definitely in New Zealand i would imagine (lucky girl u! lol )...but i think i'll join u in that corner...even if we can't persuade some theatres for a 9 hour journey in ME...can always sequester our own homes :hooray:
oh yeah...X2 looks fantastic...actually got some pics that i'll post on the X2 thread. Nightcrawler is definitely in the movie...there was a promo pic of him a while back, will try to find it. and hey...u're just biased about creatures with tails ;) :naughty:

Can't wait for Shrek II and Spider Man II!
Shrek II is I think gonna be about (spoilers)
Shrek and Fiona come back from there honeymoon and Fiona's parents are coming to vistit cept they don't know she's an ogre! :elfeek: or something like that. Interesting!
Ronin
October 19th,2002, 03:41 PM

Catz
October 19th,2002, 07:47 PM

when is x -men2 supposed to come out?
Ronin
October 24th,2002, 11:58 AM
i know, canNOT wait for Spidey II...which i do believe is going to be called the Amazing Spiderman, with Doc Oct as the villian
oh...X2 is supposed to come out in the spring/summer of 2003...as is which is the staple for comics right now (well, except for Daredevil)
Catz
October 24th,2002, 12:19 PM
yup....2003 looks like being a good year for SF/Fantasy buffs...ill be really interested to see what they do with the Spidey sequel...the original movie was so....simple (not in a bad way)....almost retro in feel....a basic boy meets girl love story....with radioactive spiders lol but that wont work twice, so im gonna be fascinated to see if they can keep that sweet quality, that made the original so endearing...
:catz:
Ronin
October 25th,2002, 11:46 PM
aye, same here...Spider-man was just a great and, as u said, totally endearing. i've a lot of faith in Raimi...much like that in PJ, coming from quite a similar back ground. ach...quite agree actually...very smooth and simple, hope the give it some intelligence and some heat....but with the amount of heart that was given the original, i almost have no doubts.
Catz
October 26th,2002, 04:32 AM
i must admit tho....that none of these fill me with the usual sense of foreboding that the word sequel generally provokes in me.....im hoping that thatll be borne out by the reality, but thus far they all look pretty good.....well the ones im interested in anywaylol
:catz:
Aerandir
October 26th,2002, 03:31 PM
Knew about them all, but yeah, quite a bit. Oh and also a Hulk 2 (ALREADY!!!) and Spider-man 3 (not for total sure)
~Aerandir
Also there might be a CatWoman movie, with Ashley Jud as CatWoman (oh boy)
Ronin
October 26th,2002, 06:04 PM
well...for Hulk 2...eh, we'll see how well the first one is received...after all, we do have Woo presenting a far different picture from that of the comics. actually, that inspires hope ;)
and as for Spidey 3...heck yeah...that one's for sure
and yeah, i know what u mean catz....sequels can at times, for the most part, be quite frightening. but they're getting something right in hollywood right now...to put effort into the second telling, and not just work off of the success of the original.
Catz
October 26th,2002, 06:42 PM
true....heres hoping that its a trend that pays....cos if it pays, it stays....
and yeah....with any luck Woos take on the Hulk will banish the memories of theTV series to whatever hell is reserved for cheezy TV series.....please God.......;)

October 26th,2002, 08:31 PM
Ok everyone. What film do you most think does not need sequels?
Ronin
October 27th,2002, 01:32 PM
ach, come on kittycatz....the tv series wasn't THAT bad...well, ok...maybe it was ...but still, just because it was The Hulk...it was damn cool ;)
but too right, just hope Woo's vision hits and stays with us
and Bearer....the film or film series that most definitely does not need a sequel is The Godfather....we do not need a fourth!!!! pfbbt
TheRingBearer
October 27th,2002, 09:49 PM
I totally agree. The corleone family are nearly all dead by now lol

October 28th,2002, 01:27 PM
They didn't need a second MIB, that was just weird and pretty much the same as the first one.
Ronin
October 28th,2002, 10:32 PM
how true bearer! ;) lol
and quite lil'....MIB 2 was a worthless and pathetic excuses to make a hundred million and then some. but wrong there, MIB the original was very cool...nice plot with some attributes too make it a very enjoyable film still today.
Catz
October 28th,2002, 11:46 PM
yeah MIB II was a disappointment....it really did just look like a money making exercise....same old, same old...that said there have been the rare movies that have had sequels that were better than the originals....Blade for example....wasnt that keen on the first one.......seemed like an overlong MTV music vid....but i loved Blade II....and it had Ron Perlman in it!!! Vamps getting done and Ron Perlman.....what else do you need ?? lol lol
:catz:
Ilmarė
October 28th,2002, 11:49 PM
Haven't yet seen Blade II ... tho i liked Blade a lot..BUT if Ron Pearlman is in it... i'll get it out proto... LOVE ron Pearlman.
Ronin
October 30th,2002, 02:48 PM
MIB II...literally walked out of the movie disgusted. especially after what MIB gave us...just, rather sad.
have to disagree about the appeal of Blade...admittedly a lackluster plot, but it at least gave us a great introduction to one hell of a character. but yeah...Blade II was far superior, at least in its scope (tho the appeal of the Vamp Squad and the actuality was rather horrible). hey....glad u finally saw it tho, was i right about the....increased sexual innuendo?? :naughty: lol
and Ilm, definitely a have to see...especially for a Ron Pearlman fan!! and a vampire fan at that
and bar none...u will see and hear the most appropriate and blood-rushingly cool use of obscenity ever in film. perhaps an overstatement...but, still cool!! lol
Catz
October 30th,2002, 03:17 PM
well seeing as how i saw the original Blade an age ago.....in the interests of being scrupulously fair, ive got it out of the video place and ill watch it again and see if ive softened in my opinions on it lol lol tho i did like it...it just seemed kind of hollow.....and yeah, the innuendo quotient was waaay up;) :naughty: lol
:catz:
Ilmarė
October 30th,2002, 07:59 PM
 Will definitely make a point of seeing Blade II then Ro....and what's all this about sexual innuendo???lol
A! Elbereth
October 31st,2002, 12:12 AM
The only one I will bother on seeing is TTT and Spiderman, considering I really enjoyed those....
another Shrek movie is too much... you should have heard all the random things people would quote from that movie after it came out... I don't think I will be abel to go through it again! (woe is me) ;) lol
Ronin
October 31st,2002, 03:21 AM
well, hope u enjoy the first Blade catz....and a little less harsh on it! ;)
and Ilm...well, vampires are generally regarded as sexual beings just based on biting yes? well...consider these vampires as not only biting and suckling...but....sucking....lots and lots of sucking :naughty: lol
Ilmarė
October 31st,2002, 08:26 AM

Thanks for the explanation:thumbs:

October 31st,2002, 11:46 AM
lol lol well ive just finished watching Blade again....and OK......it isnt as bad as i remember....lol or maybe im just getting soft ;) lol
i do still think a little less hip and a little more substance wouldnt have gone amiss....but i guess i may have been a little overcritical.......maybe;) ....still like the second one better tho
and deacon is still irritating rather than menacingroflmao
The difference in "innuendo" as you put it, lol is quite marked actually....more so than i thought when i saw the second one tho the first one had that whole oedipal thang goin on
and i forgot how cool those bat skeleton things were:cool: ;) lol
:catz:

November 6th,2002, 02:26 AM
ha!! see, just give a movie a chance...and see what u get? acceptance! u old softy lol ;)
but i do agree that Blade as compared to Blade II had a serious lack of depth and substance....but, still good fun. Snipes' grin was just fantastic
Catz
November 7th,2002, 11:09 PM
ahhh well hon.....never let it be said that im afraid to change my opinions;) when warranted that is......and there are some things that ill never change on...*coffcoffhighlandercoffcoff* lol
but i agree.....not every movie has to be a mental work out..."just fun" has its place toolol
:catz:
Ronin
November 8th,2002, 01:35 AM
so u say darlin'...so u say...but never say never...lol...'tis the curse ;) just fun has a lot of its place...sad that a lot of people don't understnad that...movies are indeed supposed to entertain as well as challenge.

Ronin
November 16th,2002, 04:09 PM
yah, had forgetten about that...i almost had...;)
here's the premise...oh the horror!! :elfeek:
" Pink-loving, blonde-haired Harvard Law School graduate Elle Woods (Witherspoon) returns in this sequel, as she turns her legal and fashion-savvy know-how towards getting a bill passed through Congress, relocating a second time, after adapting her Beverly Hills ways to Harvard, and now... Washington, D.C. The issue at hand is animal testing, which Elle becomes concerned about when the parents of her dog can't attend the pet's wedding because of it. Arriving at the Watergate and not knowing where to begin in the city, she befriends the hotel's elderly doorman, Sidney (Newhart), who becomes her guide to the way the political system works, and how to get her legislation... legislated. (King plays the chief of staff of Represenative Rudd)"

I“m really REALLY waiting for The Matrix Reloaded - only 122 Days !!! And then The Matrix Revelutions in November 2003.
But why they do a sequel for Shrek , X-Men, Inspector Gadget ? Does anybody saw the first one ( and wasn“t disapointed ?
I fall asleep during Shrek !!!
Charlies Angels was fun, not good but fun so I think a sequel is ok, the same for Spider Men.
And why is December so far away ?

that first X Men movie was designed to be the first "set up" movie of a group.......it didnt have too much time for development cos it was setting the stage.......in spite of that it did a great job IMO i didnt find it forgettable at all, and the next one is supposed to be very much more character based..........and Spidey was such a sweet old fashioned movie.......tho ill be interested to see how theyll handle the next one..........sweet worked once......it wont again.........less said about CA the better i feelpfbbt ;) lol

Sequels can be a funny business: on the one hand there's Terminator2, Aliens, Empire Strikes Back.... and then (shudder) Alien3 (lets lure the Alien in here and bore it to death), the Highlander travesties, not to mention MIB2. So much of this kind of dross is pure 'milk it for every penny it's worth' greed. Sometimes they should just let a good movie be IMHO.

I think it has something to do with her parents coming round for tea to meet the son-in-law and finding out their daughter's had a species change operation and is an ogre.
