Aurthor's Note: The thoughts expressed in the following verses apply to the thoughts Arwen might have had when Aragorn left to escort Frodo and the Ring to Mount Doom.
Sorrow and Hope
You left once before, with no thought
Of death in my mind.
You leave me again on a quest
That may end in your death.
You flee a past of
Evil and shame;
From a Ring that seeks to control
And bring endless pain.
My love is deep
And will never end.
If you die, I too
Will follow you into the dark unknown.
I see and feel the pain
That you seek to hid within.
Your cares and worries are many,
But your spririt is strong.
Evil crowns the coming day.
That which you go to face
Is an ancient evil
Of untold pwer and strength.
Defeated once, he ever
Seeks to end the line
Of him who stole his treasure
And might have sealed his doom.
Listen for my voice.
It will be in your heart,
On the wind; and my presence
Will shine in my gift of the jewel.
A guide I shall be to you.
And ever I shall whisper,
"Aragorn, Aragorn, remember our love;
Return to my embrace."
