Well.. it's only about 2 months to go.. less than that even. :hooray:

So, how many of you will watch your Fellowship of the Ring DVDs or videos right before going to the premiere of The Two Towers? :)
I know I will.

Going to the midnight screening would be a bit much for me - I want to be fresh and wide eyed so I can take in as much as I can :elfeek: I'm just going to take the whole day off, call in sick, wake at the crack of noon, watch the Extended Version, and then catch TTT at about 7 - 8 pm. :)

If I don't watch FotR right before I see TTT I will try to see it as close as I can. It's hard to judge when thou cause I will wait to see TTT for about a week or so. I don't want to try and see it with the mad rush. I'll wait til it calms down a little. I do mean a little. When I saw FotR last year we waited 2 weeks, and the theater was still packed. It was the coolest thing thou seeing it up on the big screen. When I watched it again on DVD, it didn't have the same greatness that it had up on the big screen. Still loved it thou, and have watched it many times. I tell everyone, you have to see it atleast one time on the big screen. Just to see the majesty of it. It was truely amazing:thumbs:

I'm going to try to get tickets for the midnight screening, even though I have to go to Uni the day after. I've never been to a midnight screening before, of any movie, but I'm sure it's fun. And I've waited for so long to see this movie that I want to go to the premiere.. and going to the midnight screening will only make it more special. :)
Bramble and myself will watch the DVD first.. and then we'll take a walk to the cinema (hopefully there'll be snow by then too which would make it even more magic) and watch the movie. Then walk back.. sleep for a few hours, get up again and go to Uni. I'll be dead by the end of the next day.. but I'm sure it'll be worth it. :)

I'm gonna try to see FotR the night before (not going to a midnight showing). The problem is, I think that's in the middle of the week before Christmas break for my school, so teachers are gonna be busting my *** trying to get last minute projects in, last minute tests taken, etc.

So yeah, if I gots the time, I'm definitely going to watch it, but it isn't likely that I'll have the time.

Of course. It'll make it seem more fluent and link the two together. It'll be fresh in my mind.

I'm going to see it that followed Sat, as it comes out on a school day. *frown* but I'm going to be reading Fellowship in early Dec, then finish up TT by the time the movie comes out (or right after I see it). But I might just be watching the film, hopefully with two or three friends. (one of whom I will be dragging to TT. *grin*)

Well I have to lend the tape to my mother-in -law so of course I will watch it with her. Then I get to go to the cinema twice once with her and then with my sister and no I'm not going to ask them to go together I want to go twice. :)

I hope to see the midnight showing, i hope they do that at our cinema. If so it will be a night of luxury, start watching FOTR:SE at 8pm, order takeaway while watching it, then have a taxi ordered for 11.30pm to get us to the cinema with our pre-orderd tickets. (does it sound a bit too planned? Should i be thinking this much about it?)

Why not? They say anticipation is half the pleasure. Have a good time.

My local cinema is doing a midnight showing and they sent out an email yesterday for Goldmembers of the Cinema Club (in Sweden) only. Goldmembers could fill in a form if they were interested in tickets for the midnight showing. I'm happy that I'm a goldmember :) and I got the email at 8.05 and filled in that form at 8.08 AM. I should get tickets, right!? I hope so. I can't wait!!! :whoohoo:

I think both movies (no matter how much I love them) will be too much to handle on one day. I'm think I'll watch the extended edition of the Fellowship the day before, and then be nice and frech for TTT. :)

LB goes over her list.

--SE/DVD? Check.

--Tickets to the midnight showing on opening night? Check.

--Day off from work the following day. Check.

Looks like I am all set! Figured I had better take the next day off, since I will probably be so excited I won't be able to sleep after I get home from the theater! :)

Polly Sandybanks
November 23rd,2002, 05:17 PM
lol Haha! :)

That could have been my list Legolas'Bow. Actually.. it is. :)
I am supposed to hand in a paper the day before the premiere. Then we have to come to one meeting where we discuss the papers. We can choose 10-13 or 13-16 on Wednesday 18th, or the same times on Thursday 19th. I think I'd better choose the 19th if I can. :) I don't think I'd be able to say anything good at 10 in the morning after the premiere. Either I'd be too tired, or my head would be so full of Tolkien that I wouldn't be able to think about anything else. Most likely both though. :)

And, Lessa. 40 days is NOTHING compared to 1 YEAR. ;)

I just noticed that my local Cinema will show LOTR just before the TTT premiere. Excellent! :)
Myself and Bramble were planning to watch the DVD at home before going to the premiere, but now we've decided to watch it at the Cinema instead. :) We'll be dead by the end of TTT surely.. we won't be able to sit for a week probably. lol

Over six hours in a chair! wow, that's long. There doing that here to. But i'm going to watch the Fellowship the night before (with a friend of mine) and the morning before I go to TTT. I will have a break of about one and a half hours inbetween.

Polly Sandybanks
December 14th,2002, 07:57 PM
Well.. I didn't get tickets to see TTT in the biggest "movie-room", so I have to get up and change rooms. :) we have a break of about 30 minutes in between the movies.
I'm glad the seats are soft and nice though. :)

I've just come home again. It's 4.14 am over here right now. I've spent the last 7 or so hours at the cinema. First I watched Fellowship of the Ring. It was great seeing it on the big screen again. :) And then The Two Towers! I'm still stunned by how great it was! Of course I expected big things.. but this was brilliant!! And all I could feel when it was over was that I could easily have stayed in that seat for another 3 hours and seen the rest (ie The Return of the King). I can't wait to go see it again. :) And I can't believe how I could survive for that long until the DVD came out for the last movie!!?? Hmm...
I'm going to sleep a bit now. I've got my last exam in a few hours.
