Seeing that the Uruk-Hai couldn't even tell the difference between Frodo and Merry or Pippin do you think Gandalf could of somehow deceived the army of Isengaurd by posing as Saruman? He certainly gave the hunters a scare when appearing in the white cloaks. If he did this he could of prevented the battle of Helm's deep and the death toll in Rohan. :hooray:

I don't think so. If my ailing memory serves, the color worn by the istari was a sign of rank. Saruman would have probably aready become the 'multi colored' by the time Gandalf returned from Moria as 'the white' preventing the Uruk-hai and Dunlanders from being fooled. Not to mention that Saruman had a much cooler staff..... :)

Yeah i agree and not to mention the fact that Gandalf only gave the hunters a scare because they saw him from a distance and not close up.

Well Gandalf had said Saruman could of tricked the fellowship into making them see him as Gandalf.

Also, the Uruks never saw Frodo and Sam, they just assumed that there were only two so the took the first two that they came across
