I've just looked at the description of Ugluk' Stand on this web site (i am impressed by the battle diagram) but i cannot remember this or how merry and pippin had escaped their captors. i would consult my book but my friend has had it for the last few months. verymad
Could you tell me, do u think this scene will be shown in the coming film, and if so, do u think it will just be a glimpse, or a 5 min scene? cheers

pippen breaks the bonds on his hands when an orc falls on top of him with the orc's knife. then after the riders have attacked the orcs, grishnakh pulls the hobbits to the side, and is killed by an arrow on top of them. pippen frees himself and merry and they run away into fangorn.
no idea about the movie. i've always assumed (for what this is worth) that they show it happening.

In tipical Merry and Pippin fashion, it was luck.

I heard that in the movie Merry and Pippin escape and are chased by Grishnakh. Treebeard comes in time to pick the hobbits up and squish the orc like a bug, according to my information. I wish it was the same as the movie, but it can't be helped, I guess. Pippin was so brave!roflmao

In the WB special last night it looked definitely like Grishnakh was chasing the hobbits around the forest. Don't quote me on this part, but it looked like Merry and Pip climbed up Treebeard (thinking he was just a tree) to escape from Grishnakh. No idea how he is ultimately killed though.
