Well we all have our favourite LOTR characters but who is your favourite LOTR actor?
I would have to say Orlando Bloom, but not entirely because he is hot! i love it howhe is addicted to getting adrenaline rushes. I think it is totally awesome and not to mention the fact that he is an awesome actor!

I honestly think the best actor in the film is Elijah Wood as Frodo. Such a stunning performance and it'll be really interesting to see the character develop.

i tend to drool over elijah the most but i was most impressed with pippin who MUST have been a hobbit in a past life and Ian as Gandalf, brought the role to life. I could not have pictured a better gandalf.

Hugo did an excellent job... and from what i've read, the only problem most people have with him is that he just happened to be some bad guy (i think :grin: ) in the Matrix... which makes no sense to me, lotsa people star in more than one movie lol..... anyway that's not a problem i could ever have with him lol

man, from the first time i saw him i did not like for some reason, i even stated aloud to my sister "i do NOT like that dude" and she of course asked why and i said....something like "i dont know..he just looks likes he's untrusting..like hes going to stab them all in the backs" we both sort of shrugged it off and then a week later i learned that he was the bad guy in the Matrix...so THATS why he looked untrusting...i still to this to day when i watch the movie direct my attention elsewhere when he talks to frodo when he first wakes up in rivendell...he still gives me the creeps. BUT something that would of been UTTERLY frightening would of been David Bowie -shudder shudder- i think of him and i think goblin king in the labyrinth

No problem Togo. It was kind of weird for me to see him playing a good guy after the Matrix. He was a really bad guy in that. I did like his performance in LotR thou. I feel that he did a great job, even if he did have a cheesy line.:)

I simply adore Sir Ian McKellan. He is by far my favorite actor in the flick. As for humor and making me giggle it's gotta be Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan. But on looks alone, Viggo, ah how adore Viggo...he's sooooo pretty:drool: notworthy

I also go with Orlando Bloom. And not only because he is darn handsome but also because his protrayal was so stunning. I mean sitting in a movie theatre thinking: hey that guy really could be an elf! proves it. I loved all the other ones aswell, and get slightly sentimental when it comes to Sean Astin, because I was so in love with him when the Goonies came out LOL Note I was a lot younger at that time :)

Wow -- you can cut the estrogen in here with a knife (not to mention the drool) -- LOL!

Although I really like Viggo's look as Aragorn (although he mumbles his lines at times), I have to say that my favorite cast member is Elijah. He can do more with one look than a lot of other actors can do with a whole page of dialog. I'm thinking specifically of two scenes --

1 -- In FoTR, when Gandolf falls from the bridge of Khazad-dum, and the rest of the group finally makes their way outside. Frodo is standing apart from the others as they grieve, and when Aragorn calls him, he turns around...and his eyes and his face are so full of sorrow...it chokes me up every time.

2 -- In TT, when Frodo and Sam tumble down the stairs in Osgiliath, and Frodo takes out Sting to stab Sam...the intensity in his eyes is amazing, not to mention how blue they are.

So yes -- my vote is Viggo for the "yum factor" and Elijah for overall acting -- he is very gifted.

I would have to agree about Viggo, PutriLeggie. He should grow back the beard...or something. He was in another movie that he looked great in: The Prophecy. He was Lucifer, and had a similar look to Aragorn, only more manicured. Interesting about his accent in LOTR. I thought at times that it sounded Irish.

As for Orlando (and Elijah too), I admire them as handsome men, but far too young for me -- they could be my sons (now that's a chilling thought!). That's why I "go for" Aragorn! He's more my age.

Just got home from seeing TTT the third time -- you know, it gets better with every viewing.

If I were younger, I can say with certainty that I'd be gone over Elijah Wood by now....those huge eyes, that porcelain skin and rosebud lips.....just amazing. When he's on screen, I can't take my eyes off him. ;) :blush:

I do think, though, that if I had to give the Academy Award to someone in the cast (besides Andy Serkis -- that's a given) for this one, it would have to be Viggo. But the next movie will belong to Elijah, for sure -- it's going to be a long wait until next December!!!

Well, to be honest I think Sean Astin and Viggo Mortensen perform the best! Sean's Sam talks and cried so touching! Though I must admid he's not the least bit attractive (but then he shouldn't be!). And Viggo - he's just phenomenal!!! So much fury and elegance is rarely seen among men!

Hey everyone! I'm a first time poster - haven't been lurking that long, but I really love the movies and this seems like the best place to talk to people who like them as much as I do.

This is a really tough one - I was totally in love with Elijah at the beginning, but the more I find out about Orli and Viggo the more I realize how utterly, inexhaustibly COOL they are, I'd definitely have to pick one of them. Unfortunately, they are both too old for me - especially Viggo - which was driven home to me once more on Orli's birthday last week. Thus, I have decided I could hold out for Viggo's son to come of age...;)

The problem is I can't FIND him anywhere, which brings me to my original question - in all the premiere and awards show photos and every other kind of photo I've seen there aren't any of Henry anywhere. I was wondering if anyone had seen any and could remember where they were. Thanks for your help, everyone! It's good to be here!
