Hi, my name is Missy & I won a chance to go see the screening in NY, but I live in Virginia and don't want to travel alone. Is there anyone else from Virginia going? Airfare is outrageous and requires a hotel stay overnight. Anyone who would want to carpool or share expenses, please let me know :p Thanks!!

hi! i can meet up with anyone. i live in new jersey and it's a 30 minute car ride away, so no airfare applicable for me. my name's Amy btw.

Hi Amy, my name's Ana, and I also live in NJ , perhaps we could meet up and go together?? I hate going there on my own. I
was thinking of taking the train into the city rather than driving.

Hi- I am planning on attending too...but I gather that I can't bring anyone. I am from CT and I think that I am going to take the Metro North in. I'm just worried that I'll get all the way down there and they won't let me in cause there are no seats left. What time was everyone planning on going???
Thanks, Heather

Hi-
I think it would be fun if we all met up at the theater..you know posted what we'll be wearing or something. :+)
Going alone for the whole day sort of scares me.
Here is my email address if anyone wants to make plans:
heatherb78@juno.com
I look forward to meeting everyone there. Anyone going to dress up?? I was thinking of it, but I couldn't use the coupon cause the last train home is way before midnight...

Hi I posted on another thread but thought I'd post here too. I too won tickets and am very excited though a bit " Frightened" to be there all by meself. Anyone from the Maine area of the country going?Am I dressing up? Probably but not sure what since there are but a few women in the tale. I might just go all out and dress like one of the guys :elfeek:
We don't take a guest right?

Hi, all. I, too, won the contest. I would be coming up from Baltimore, MD, but, as you all, don't want to go by myself if I have the choice. PM me if you're interested in car-pooling with me (I would be driving, you just need to read the map)

I too was thinking of dressing up as one of the guys....I share the same blond hair that Legolas has, but I am no where near as skinny as that elf. LOL
Maine is a haul. I'll be coming in from CT...I am taking the train..I have driven in Manhattan before, given it was in a UHAUL, but I won't be doing that ever again.

From what I'm understanding, no guest :-( . I'm just wondering how to get a costume at this short notice. Knew I should've had a different Halloween costume...

Does anyone have any idea if the pass is transferable? I really don't think I can go - I don't see how! - but I know people who would love the opportunity!

i just found out that i'm going and i'm so excited. i just hope i can get the day off from work :P
if you've never been to the AMC in times square, you're in for a treat. it's my favorite theatre in manhattan!
I live in the city, so i don't need to travel very far, but if anyone is planning to meet up beforehand, let me know. i might be able to think of a good meeting spot.

I think I've come to the conclusion that I will be a Hobbit you know they are such noble creatures ;) Maine is about a six and a half hour drive and I hope to get there at nine or so. I'll probably drive down sunday and stay somewhere. But I won't complain about the drive. Germany...wow... now that is a long way :elfeek:

I think it would be fun to meet, since we are by ourselves it would make the experience more fun. Also, does anyone have any quick and easy tips for costumes? (oh, and priceworthy  )

Folks let just caution if meeting up. Please do it in a public place with plenty of people about. i suggest outside the theatre itself. :-)
I will put up an image you can print off and cut out if you like. To identify yoursleves. Let me know.

I think Fatty is right. If we are going to meet we should do it somewhere public. I don't know if they will want us to wait outside but I have been to this theatre many times and right nextdoor there is a food court type of place that might be good for people to gather at.

I'm getting to NY before noon on Sunday. Meeting at the food court sounds great, and I like the idea of something we can print and use as a badge to wear. I made my elf outfit for Halloween, but used a lot of the info from alleycatscratch.com. Anyone know the best way to take your bow and arrows on the plane? I may also need help gluing my ears on Monday morning, so anyone experienced with spirit gum?

Legolass77,
If you don't care about being "super" authentic, try the local mall!
I just went to the mall yesterday, and found stuff to "invent' a costume using sale items. You might get lucky (ie capri pants, peasant shirts and other summer clothes on sale). Then mix/match with stuff you may own already (for example, a belt).
Granted, not very authentic looking but at least for me the main point is to get the free dvd, not to dazzle everyone with my fancy costume.

Hello,
I was wondering if there is anyone travelling from Montreal to NYC for the screening on the 11th. If there is, would you considering sharing transportation? As of now, I have no way of going to NYC except by Greyhound. Thanks!

November 9th,2002, 08:27 PM
speaking of times, what time is everyone planning on going to the theatre monday? and if we are to be standing outside the theatre, what time does everyone want to go inside? i think the picture image to print out is a good idea btw.
Menolly
November 9th,2002, 08:41 PM
The printed picture idea seems like a good one, I say lets do it.

Well.... whether in NY or LA, the folks from New Line will be there to meet and greet(they like to do that), plus they have to collect the signed release forms from you so it's the release form that actually serves as your ticket.
Enjoy!
