Hey folks!

I've seen that a few people are wondering as to whether or not you can bring a guest to the event.

I am sorry to say that the answer is no, the ticket is only good for the person who won it. We gave away 75 seats for each location LA and NY. There was at least one maybe two other sites that also ran the competition, and they plan on filling the theatre, so there should be lots of people there!

I haven't seen the announcement email from New Line myself, but considering that the event starts at noon, I would say that to arrive oh, say 10 or 11 am should be sufficient!

I want to congratulate all who entered and one, and let you know that you are in for quite the treat! I was fortunate to see it on the big screen as part of a press screening that we were invited to earlier last month.

Fatty has started a couple of threads. One for LA and one for NY. I would encourage anyone who would like to connect with some else that's going to post in there!

Also, if it becomes apparent that you cannot attend, please notify fatty@warofthering.net so that your seat can be made available to someone else!

Again, congrats, and thanks for entering!

I got an email saying that I am permitted to bring one companion as long as he/she signs the affidvait. Can someone please confirm what is correct?

Well....

I have not seen any emails of that sort and I just got off the phone with New Line and they indicate that it is 1 seat per invitation. If you could forward that email to me illuvatar@warofthering.net, I will try to look into this further.

Okay,

Thanks..

I spoke with our contact at New Line, she did some digging and responded via email with "He's with our PR firm in NY, they have a couple extra seats at that screening - but not in LA. We don't want to turn anyone away.!"

So I guess it's confirmed....

If you are going in NY and want to bring a guest, here are the guidlines:

Re: companion/friend

Yes you may bring one companion to this screening, as long as he/she also signs and brings a consent form and dresses in costume. Anyone who is under 18 must have the consent form signed by his/her parent or legal guardian. Also please remember that this event has been over-booked to ensure capacity, so seating is first-come, first-served.

Re: transferability

Yes this "ticket" is transferable. Several important points here: Please be sure to email me the new name no later than 3:00pm EST Friday, November 7 (tomorrow). The replacement must sign and bring a consent form and wear a costume. If he/she is under 18, he/she must have a parent or legal guardian sign the consent form. This person should also remember that the event has been over-booked to ensure capacity, and that seating is on a first-come, first served basis. Yes the replacement person may also bring a companion, as per the comments above.

These are questions better put in an email to the PR rep that notified you about winning.

We held the competition to win the tickets, and the event is sponsored and being put on by New Line Cinema.

I've endeavored to get a few things sorted out, but other than what I've posted, I know nothing more! lol

So it would be best to get these types of questions answered by New Line and then post in here what you find out.

Please feel free to send in your reports of the day and photos. For those in costume we have a little competition for the best one. I emailed all the winners regarding it. Photos for the competition should be in a week today. :-)
