i am beginning to wonder
doesn't anybody like the soundtrack?
it was a really good work if you ask me
The music was a perfect reflection of the spirit of the movie and ENYA's two songs were so so so so great!
Little flashback here:
The first time i saw the movie and when Enya's MAY IT BE was played at the end i was the only one who sat there , so captured and still at my seat. And remained there till the end of the song. Nobody gave "may it be" a chance at the cinema [well at least that was the way things were here in my country]. So what the movie was 3 hours [only] long?
SHAME !
Such a great song!
ooh yeah back to the topic :
Anyboby interested in having a little conversation about the soundtrack?

Which are your fav songs ?
i enjoyed all of them but especially
"concerning hobbits", "the coucil of elrond" ,
"a journey in the dark" , " the bridge of K-Dum", "lothlorien"
and surely "may it be" .
I love that emotional part in song 13 [b of k dum] after the falling of gandalf into the abyss
it sends shivers down my spine every time i listen to it. Big emotional impact, almost makes me cry.
Perfect singing !

I totally agree! Did you know that is a little boy singing! He also sings in "The Breaking of the Fellowship" around 5 Minutes and 15 seconds is my favorite part where he sings ... great words too!
Its my fav. song

Yes ! A good part indeed . i also love it.
You got me here though. i did not know that a little boy does that angelic singing. I though it was some female singer

I found out on the Official LOTR site.... they had videos of the making of the music... and then they showed this little boy singing the part... I was astonished... who would think? heh

I really like these songs: Concerning Hobbits, At The Sign Of The Prancing Pony, and (especially) The Ring Goes South. I thought the sound track was great.

A GREAT SOUNDTRACK !
You don't like enya's songs guys?
Nobody says "May it be"'s good
or maybe it's that good that there's no need to say it :) ?

Hey Pil! Wow! What kind of a voice do you have? Alto? Soprano? Do you sing well? I love to sing! I sound pretty good, but not as good as some people
Pil
July 1st,2002, 10:33 AM
I mostly sing top soprano, high notes are my look out! I CAN sing alto if forced to but i don't enjoy it as much!
As for whether i'm good...i hope i'm good enough not to make a fool of myself infront of a whole lot of people! I've sung solos before so it shouldn't be a problem, i'm just looking forward to it.
It turns out i have to sing the wednesday afterwards...the...um...tenth of July! Wish me luck peeps!!! :embarras:

Has anyone else purchased the sheet music to the lotr soundtrack? I dunno if this is the same elsewhere, but here it was about ten quid...which is quite a lot for the limited amount of songs you are actually given. There's may it be, in dreams, aragorn and arwen's theme, lament for gandalf and...track one of the soundtrack....begins with p....ok, its gone! I just wanted to know if anyone else was quite shocked with the price! :p :knight:
Pil

I DID IT!!!!!! I SANG MAY IT BE IN ASSEMBLY!!!!!!!! :hooray:
Pil
July 18th,2002, 07:14 PM
I REFUSE to post to myself over here any longer! verymad :batty:
Anyway. Does anyone else find that either:
a)When they listen to the soundtrack they can quote/picture the film along with it?
b)That you come up with completely different images, based on LOTR or not, to go with the music. In another story i'm writing legolas comes over the hill with thousands of elven warriors. The thought came from me listening to 'The Ring Goes South' (track 11) :p :dragon:
A! Elbereth
July 18th,2002, 08:33 PM
I picture both - Mostly about the book and I could point out any scene while listening. But the music makes me think of what it would be like if I lived in a world like Middle Earth. It seems so much better. I know theres evil there, but there's evil here too, and I dunno, it seems like I would have a better time in a place like that than here. I think about that alot of the time I'm listening to it. trying to picture myself in M.E. It REALLY works.lol

On track 10, at the beggining there is music before Enya sings. WOW I love this song the most. It makes me picture them traveling towards Mt. Doom... and sam watching Frodo Sleep. IT reminds me of Rivendell (of course) and right before Enya sings and when enya sings is when I feel terribly sadmecry mecry lol So what about you guys? What is your favorite song and why do you like it?
Pil
July 21st,2002, 06:47 PM
My fav song is also Aniron...but i dunno if it's supposed to be sad! veryhappy I'm thinking about singing that with 'In dreams' (also a fav) on the end in assembly.... now i've done it once i'm thirsty for more! lol  :read: :p

thats so cool Pil! thats a really pretty song. i'm sure you're great if you have that great taste. i wish i could sing it but my voice teacher wants me to do these weird italian aria things:rolleyes:
i also like the soundtrack. if i keep it on low it's great background music for thinking stuff like homework.

July 25th,2002, 06:30 AM
yes I knew that Legolas - I mentioned it on the frist page of the thread - I do recall he was 6 or 7, you can watch videos of him singing on the original LOTR movie site

I absolutely LOVE the soundtrack! My faves? That's tough... The Prophecy, Concerning Hobbits, The Council of Elrond, Lothlorien, The Breaking of the Fellowship, May it Be. I hope the Two Towers soundtrack will be as good as the Fellowship one.

Ok. I bought the Limited Edition Soundtrack...ya know...the one with the leather case, and someone ripped off the cd. mecry I still have the case but not the cd. I was wondering if one of you could tell me what the cd looks like. Mine had the ring on it. I would assume yours do as well, but with all the editions...who knows? Could one of you help me out?
Catz
August 3rd,2002, 08:04 AM

Good luck with finding [or maybe regaining] your cd lady Galadriel.

I've heard a few songs from this soundtrack and I must say they are great ( didn't the score win an oscar?) I personally like May it be, the music video of which is on the DVD. It is really touching and goes great with the film in general.

I love the soundtrack! it's the only music I really like to listen to. My fav songs are In dreams, Aniron, and May it Be. I bought the sheet music for them and now my voice teacher is helping me learn them. The Quenya is beautiful to sing (or is it Sindarin??)

I don't know if this has been posted before but the Lord of the rings soundtrack is officially the best music from a film EVER.
Wow!!

September 1st,2002, 08:44 PM
WOW INDEED! lol
It is brilliant...it includes music for every mood i'm in.
If i've had a bad day at school i'll come home listening to concerning hobbits to cheer me up.
If i'm upset about something i'll listen to aniron, the breaking of the fellowship or lothlorien to get it out of my system.
If i'm not sure what mood i'm in i'll listen to the prophecy or the black rider, cos both of them have a real mix of speed and volume.
Oh, and the great river is great to meditate to... :)

Oh yeah, Concerning Hobbits is my favourite track, from what I've heard. It's so peaceful and fits the countryside atmosphere so well

Breaking of the Fellowship is mine, but I'd like to hear it without the voice in it too. Because, right when the credtis role, at the end of the movie, they cut out the voice in The breaking of the Fellowship, and its sounds so beautiful! But i don't know how to cut voices out of music...
Oooooo! So pwetty!!! mecry

I just bought this today and I must say it lives up to it's name. They're a brilliant selection of different toned tracks, as I'm sure you all know but I just have to say it
My favourites are: Concerning Hobbits (as I said), A Knife in the Dark, Many Meetings, The Council of Elrond, The Bridge of Khadzad Dum, The Great River and The Breaking of the Fellowship

I am officially obsessed over the FotR soundtrack... everyone I know thinks I'm CRAZY!
But I love it... I don't really have a favorite track, I just listen to the whole thing, beginning to end... when i'm sleeping... when i'm eating... when i'm surfing the net... when my teachers let me... whenever i'm not watching FotR (which is almost never!!)... and right now!
It's the best music I've ever heard. Ever.
