On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 World War One ended. Since then, today has become a day in many countries around the world to honor the military veterans that have served their nations.
In the United States of America, today was initially dubbed “Armistice Day” by congress to recognize the service of American Soldiers who fought in WWI. In 1954, Armistice Day was changed to Veterans Day to acknowledge all the men and women who have served their country regardless of the conflict, from the Revolutionary War to recent actions in Afghanistan and the Middle East.
Please take the time today to acknowledge the commitment and dedication of the men and women who serve or have served in the armed forces of your own contry to keep you and your fellow citizens safe.
Thank you
