But my favorite Aragorn expression is in the Extended version where he is singing the Lay of Leithien. Right after he tells Frodo to go back to sleep. He looks so sad! He knows that if Arwen marries him she will have the same fate as Luthien.

So that is the expression I would really vote for, but it isn't one of the choices.

I choose Weathertop, but I think there should have been a choice for ALL of themlol
I think the new stuff in the SEE really makes Aragorn such a better character, and it gives alot more to his relationship with Arwen - I like that little nod and slight smile he gives just as he leaves Rivendell.
My absolute favourite Aragorn scene is from the TT trailor, where he pushes through the doors of Edoras:cool:

This thread was started before TTT came out unfortunately....but it has to be said that that is one of the most drool-worthy moments of aragorn's from TTT....and there are many many more besides... :drool:

Back to FOTR though, I like the look he has on his face when he looks back at arwen when leaving rivendell (special extended version) and gives her a special look... :loveyou: you can look at the screen and pretend that he is looking at you rather than arwen! :elfqueen: :thumbs: :p

My favorite is on the walls of HD, where you see the expressions of a human warrior in battle very well. He was despirit, yet he never gives up all hope.
The men are still the greatest race no Middle Earth, and Tolkien (and PJ) made that quite obvious!
I also like Viggo talking to Arwen in Rivendell, I love his Elvish ;)

I LOVE IT when he's singing the Lay of Luthien. You can tell he's thinking about Arwen's choice! But I still can't decide between any of them! I also love that part during TT when they are at Edoras and have to give up their weapons and Gandalf says-"You would not part an old man from his walking stick?" And Aragorn gives this totally kewl look like he wants to say "ah yea, whatever!" He also has a look akin to that in the 3rd movie when he sees eowyn's sword before they leave for Dunharrow, like he doesn't believe her. SO KEWL! ;) And I love the look he gives when he sees Merry and Pippen again in the 3rd movie! Oh, that smile! :loveyou: :drool: And when Thoeden's being healed, and when he sees Arwen at the coronation, and when Elrond tells him Arwen is dying, and when he's unconsious and ohhhhhhhhhh.........don't stop my rambling now!

So many to choose from, but I first really became enthralled during the fight in Moria, as he rushes to Frodo's aid after the cave troll gets Frodo. And, I love "My friends, you bow to no one" and "For Frodo" and " I would have gone with you, into the very fires of Mordor" and...and...and

Out of the choices in the poll, I'd have to say his expression right after Boromir died. He seemed filled with grief, but not in a weak way. He still looked strong, but not in the way of a "tough guy" trying to cover it up. Because he's not into himself enough even to care how he appears to others(which makes him look all the better for it). And he simply has no weakness to cover up: no weak bone in his body or weak thought in his mind. He looked exactly the way Aragorn should look when he's upset. But my favorite two out of all of them are when he arrives at Rohan after having his little "fall" after the warg attack...when he charges through the two huge wooden doors with this look of absolute determination! He looked almost the same way when he stepped out of the ship with the army of the dead! So strong, so determined, so intense...so sexy!! lol

I have two very favorite expressions that just seems to me to express the very finest qualities of Aragorn's personality.

The expression on his face as he is saying the words "Ride hard" to Arwen when she's taking Frodo to Rivendale in FotR.

The other is when he smiles at Merry and Pippin as they are "sitting on a field of victory" at Isengard in RotK. What a smile!!! :grin:

While I never thought that scene really fit, I do love how he tries to eat the stew. Best look there? When he takes a bite and tries to say "It's good". You can SEE him choking on it, but trying to hide it. And his little head shake when he says "87". You can tell he's trying not to hide it, but that he's clearly not promoting himself as special just because he's one of the Dunedain. Again, anytime we get a close up of Aragorn, I'm a happy camper!

My rewind and pause are getting worn out on the computer. It's really great to watch the movies on the computer! Sitting closer and the quality of the screen makes it so much better. The closeups are so crystal clear and you notice so much more detail! Plus I can use my headphones and hear the music so much better! Aragorn's expressions are sooooo nice when I'm that close to the screen! (And so are Boromir's, and Faramir's, and Eomer's and Frodo's eyes!) :drool:

Glad your enjoying yourself, Elra! Even if I wasn't extremely indescisive, I think I still wouldn't be able to choose. IMD, that little head shake thing made me want to give a very girlish squeal. (I only didn't because I wasn't alone) And that pause before he says "87". Everyday, I silently thank my Grandparents fot the B-day gift of my own TV, complete with both DVD and video. (And it's *such* a pretty silver ;) ) And I love that look he has right after he sings the Lay of Luthien, when he kinda looks up at the sky; he's probably thinking of Arwen, you could tell. And since I am SUCH a sucker for them.............In my most recent chapter of a fic of mine, I knda imagined him having that look, because I wanted to give off the impression that he was thinking of Arwen. Even though it's Eowyn pov, but who cares? Aragorn is the big picture of my chapter. ;) Even if it's all Eowyn's thoughts and what she's thinking and her fate, oh well. I know how you feel, Elra. I wanna choose them all. My favorite Aragorn expression(s) for today are/is:
In ROTK right after the dream of Arwen dying, when he has that *look* on.....shaken-and-relieved-and-hot-and-I-ca't-describe-it-but it's-his-love-for-her-showing-and-like-I-said-he's-relieved-cause-he-thinks-it's-a-dream. Maybe thats cause I was watching it last night cause I wanted to see if there was anything else for me to draw. I watched from the end of his dream up to the part I frist described in slow motion. :drool: When he pulls out his knife (slowly) and sits up (slowly) with his hair (slowly) swinging in his face, and seeing that flaming beyond WORDS! You see all those lovely details in slow-mo. *sighs happily* Yeah lol . And a min later when Elrond confirms his dream. When he kinda looks down and yeah. I might change m opinion in a few hours though, I'm thinking of drawing tonight.

I got some really kewl pencils the other night made especially for drawing, 12 to a pack, and each one shows up light or dark for shading and stuff. Can't wait to break them in. ;)

Not a lot, since I just recently started. I've drawn Aragorn, Eowyn, tried to draw Legolas, Merry, and Arwen, in that order. I broke in the said pencils with Arwen. Arwen is REALLY hard! That was the fourth time I drew her, and the only time I succeded. For more details on that, check my A/A thread. If you like Aragorn, go to the Legolas or Aragorn thread! It's hysterical! You can meet some great people there, even Leggy lovers.
