View Full Version : Lay of Luthien--is it in Elvish?

I'm thinking it could be because I couldn't understand a word of it...unless I'm either deaf or who knows what. (However, I could swear I heard the word "shimmiring" but since I already know what the song was it might have been my head hearing the word...)

My point is, does anyone know if Viggo's song is sung in Elvish? It wouldn't surprise me, giving how much Elvish is spoken...and Frodo did know (a bit of) elvish, so if it was, he would actually know what he was singing.

Any ideas? Theories? Opinions? Documented prove either way?

yes it is and if you have the extended DVD Roisin Carty who was a dialogue coach on the movie set actually recites the words they used, on one of the appendices.

ooh! cool!! I can't wait till I get to that part, doubtless it's on the Vision to Reality bit.

But I knew it had to be Elvish! Thanks, Catz!
