has anyone seen them yet? it is the movie, with voice over commentary of all the cast!!! :whoohoo::wiggle::wave:

soooooo awesome!!! if you can, go see it! its definately worth the extra 3 1/2 hours :thumbs:

they talk about filming the movie, scenes that were cut, emotions they had, prediction they had while filming, how they turned out, how wonderful this or that scene is, and point out little cool things! lol

its so hard for me to identify theirr voices with those of their chars, tho...once one of them said a line along with his char and it sounded so different! lol interesting how they act so well and totally change how they are :grin:

I started watching the cast chat for the first disc, but only got up till the party scene, when my mother made me turn the "bloody dvd" off - I think she was a bit annoyed as everytime she would walk out of the room, I would put the dvd on, and she just got sick of it - she obviously has no tastelol
Anyway what I heard sounded really good, so I'll have to wait for an evening on my own to watch it through:thumbs: (shame Viggo's not done any commentary, hopefully he'll do some on the next dvd)
Tar, what do you think of Sean Bean's broad, yorkshire accent - did you have any troubles understanding him?

I watched DISC 2, the director's chat AND the cast chat. Both perspectives give wonderful insights! More to look forward to when I get more time - to go back to DISC 1 and watch those too. (The directors chat has Fran, Phyllipa, and PJ talking along with the movie - great stuff! )

TAR, did you select the 'English subtitles' option? I had that on, and whenever a new person started talking, it showed the persons name up above the picture. That was really helpful. Also, the subtitles are helpful for getting all the words they are saying, and to get past the accents.

Your right about all this great stuff. It's like getting three movies, instead of just one.

yeah, i had subtitles on, and it said who was talking, but not what they were saying... was it supposed to write what they were saying?

i watched it. i thought it was totally entertaining. the extra 1/2 hour was genius. and the extra 6 hours of footage was amazingly clever. i loved billy boyd's accent and well as the rest of the cast. orlando bloom looked especially adorable w/ his brown tinted sunglasses on and a pen in his mouth. lol it was adorable. peace

The actors' commentary is fantastic!!
The highlights are definitely Legolas' Lembas commercial and anything that Dominic Monaghan says - especially when he was taking the micky out of Rhys-Daves- "Indy! They're digging in the wrong place!"
Oh, and the bit during the credits when Elijah sends a big shout out to Tom Bombadil!

Ok, sorry for the double posting, but the 15 minutes has most definantely passed.. I finally watched the movie with the Cast Chat, and I can only say it's got to be the funniest way to see the movie... And, possibly the coolest. I laughed almost non stop. They have got to be the funniest people. Also to see the movie through there eyes made me realize things I had never realized before. It's too much fun.....;) lol roflmao lol

I watched and listened to the cast commentary. It was hilarious! :) Especially the hobbits. It seemed like the four hobbits were together, and then the rest of them were in separate rooms.. but I don't know.

Yeh I had the feeling that the four hobbits were together but Sir Ian M wasn't recorded at the same. Something said at some point made me think that Sir Ian and Christopher Lee were together and that Sean Bean and Orlando were together for their commentary recordings. I'm not sure about John Rhys-Davies though.

But then there is a part somewhere where it sounds like Orlando is laughing with the hobbits (maybe it was just clever editing).

Actually I just rewatched it, and I think your right.. I think Orlando, Sean B., & The Hobbits were together at some point. Cause I could have sworn I herd them laughing at something Orlando said...:) I know I herd Sean B. comment off of something Orlando said, cause Orlando laughed shortly after sean started talking....;) The most noticiable interaction between the group was at the end during the final fight stuff...;)

Yes, I've finally watched the entire cast chat. It was really funny. Especially that talk abt kayaking, when Orli was trying to show of some special move and John had to tip the whole canoe down. lol
And they were talking abt Orli's archery and Elijah was saying that Orli's real good to be able to do that himself and Dom/Billy were like 'no he didn't its all CG' 'Just to make him look good...' 'He already looks good...' 'Couldn't look any better...' lol
And Sean Astin was commenting that he would want to use a bow and arrow. And I think they were all impressed by how Orlando managed to bring out confusion in his eyes during Gandalf's and Boromir's death scene. :thumbs:

And when Orli was saying that at that time (when they were showing the forging of the fellowship) he was like thinking "God... not the dwarf..." The way he said it was real funny. lol
Also the part abt the gifts when Legolas received his bow, Orli was saying that he was trying to create the feeling of a kid receiving his christmas present. so sweet :loveyou:

And when Orli complained of his sore butt and legs bcuz sean bean kept falling on him. lol

Btw, seems that Orli enjoys complaining abt disgusting stuff eg. the fake snow, the sandflies, and the stuff that exploded in his face when he was supposed to battle an imaginary cave troll. lol

And the thing abt Pippin, Merry and the firework issue. Billy and Dom claimed they didn't know that the firework would really go up, and Billy ended up 'shrieking like a girl', as they said, when the firework took off. lol

It's a pity that viggo mortensen wasn't in the cast chat though.

Oh and I watched "A day in the Life of a hobbit". It was real funny, how Dom, Elijah and Billy were joking around and 'bad mouthing' each other. And how Billy got everyone into liking porridge.

I checked out the storyboards too. It would have been great if they actually filmed the Sarn Gelar Rapids Chase. But then it would have been real tough... what with Orli's boat sinking and Brett falling in in a peaceful lake lol Oh, and they really shd have stuck to the original storyboard and filmed the part where pippin was sleeping while sucking his thumb. so cute!!! I practically choked on my saliva when i saw that.

And that Sean Bean would rather climb the mountains than take the chopper. :elfeek: and sean astin's poor foot. and to think elijah was so impressed with that, so that sean astin said "You can play with my blood clots". roflmao

Oh and i can't believe they spent 9hrs on the uruk-hai make-up. poor lawrence. lol

I think all the audio commentaries were great, abt digital filming, scaling, force perspective and all. :thumbs: Now i can't wait for the extended for TTT to be out!!!

yeah the commentery is great the only thing is now when i watch the movie little comments keep coming into my head like when they are talking about the council and what oli said after elrond said "one of you must take it " and oli said "why don't you take mate" now that come into my head everytime, another thing if you watch the movie with the subtitles on you will see that who ever did them stuffed up as when they in the mines and see it is a tomb boromir yells for them to get out of there but when you read the subtitle it says aragon says it , it just nice to watch the commentery and know that they are human and do make mistakes and have fun as well

they dont say it for everyone, only occaisionally, and less often as the commentary continues. i dont think you have to have subtitles enabled... it doesnt do anything else i think
