Has anyone else seen this one?
It's the new Hannibal Lecter movie. It takes place before "Silence of the Lambs" and "Hannibal" and it's brilliant. I loved it. It's definitely much better than "Hannibal".
Oh.. and Edward Norton is great, as always.
(By the way.. there's another movie based on the same book that was made in the 70s or 80s or something, called "Manhunter", or something like that. Has anyone seen that?)

yup, Manhunter was the name of the "original" Red Dragon...really great movie, almost cause not to remake it.
really dug it as a remake tho, somewhere there's another thread about it lying around here lol ...great actors in this one but bar none (even the fantastic Emily Watson)....Ralph Fiennes is genius as the Red Dragon....perfect and the sole reason to see it
Hannibal pfbbt

I don't know about Red Dragon. Ralph Fiennes character development was too illogical to me. Not what I expected at all and not in the same League as Lecter or even Buffalo Bill. He started as a psycho killer but as soon as he started getting some action, he gave up the whole murder routine. I don't know.

Pretty logical to me...or maybe i just have a mind like a psychotic killer ;) :evilcool:
Fiennes was...brilliant...in my opinion. a ruthless killer who needed to be seen and awed, awed himself the master, Lecter. Lecter became almost a father figure...brother in arms type figure to him...making the subsequent obsession with Will logical...if a little too hollywood. his dissent from the murders...well, can't expect a boy to do it all can u? romancing a beautiful woman, conversing with a madman, taking orders from the devil, eating pictures, stalking another for said madman...i think its excusable that he might have had to delay some of his escapades...don't u?

I really do like this film, it kept growing on me throughout it  Because I saw this before Silence I kinda prefer it seeing as their plots are very similar.

Would any of you recommend this movie? 'Cause I want to see it, but my mom might not let me. (I'm almost 14, btw.) What's the scariness factor? *WARNING: I love scary movies!!!

Well, its not very scary...ie, scary movie...more along the lines of Silence of the Lamb...very gruesome...psychologically frightening...to be honest, maybe u should wait a few years ;)

mmmm......id agree with Ronin.......its not so much what they show........as the implications of what they show........its delving into a very twisted mind.......so yeah......a couple of years Ruthiel......and id say the same for Seven......that has some really.......revolting........scenes.......not so much cos of what they show.......but what they dont........and they stick with you for a long time..........

Yes, I'll take your advice and wait. Neither movie I really want/have to see right now. I think I can wait, unlike for TTT.
