Sorrowful Song of Saruman
Long ago in the blessed realm,
Appeared a wizard, from the Valars stemmed,
Curunir to the elves, Saruman to many,
He wandered long, he learned aplenty,
Man of skill, of wisdom thoughts,
Much good he made, much evil was begot,
His desire burns hot, to see within,
the palantir stones, the stones of seeing,
But ensnared and caught, price dearly bought,
His mind corrupted, felled by the Dark Lord,
As his greed grew, he desired to hoard,
To overthrow himself, and conquer all,
Too much he planned, far too greedily as he fall,
By the unexpected enemy, the Ents of Fangorn,
Escaped he did, after Gandalf he has scorned,
But by his own malice, was killed by one he had trust,
Killed by wormtounge, with a knife's lethal thrust,
He was turned from the West, by a chilling cold wind,
As he had defied openly, with the Valar's whim,
That is the story of a once great wizard of wisdom,
One of the wisest, but of mind not set firm.
Well... whaddayathink? I know it's pretty strange, but it was the palantir that corrupted him... (Never mind the speculation in the book about him planning to betray all since the beginning of the forging of the One Ring)
