Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers has made the front cover of the Dec 2, 2002 Time magazine. Here's a link to the article, which contains some minor SPOILERS:

EEP! (I like the cover.)

By the sounds of things, TTT strays quite a bit from the books. PJ says (paraphrased): "The fans will forgive us, as long as we make a good movie." And there are quite a few references to how much more action there is. I'm beginning to worry....

Thanks, Kalimac! :)

Shouldn't it be "I never stopped worrying" though? :p

lol Well, I know what you're thinking though - that they're starting to take too cavalier an attitude toward the adaptation process. I don't want to gleam conclusions from just this quote, but I think he was just stating they had to take liberties and hope the end result would, nonetheless, be appreciated on the whole.

I think it's essentially the same perspective they took to adapting Fellowship. I somehow get the feeling this next film will be just as acceptable to individual Tolkien fans as the last one, depending on how much you're able to divorce the books from the film experience.

For some people it's easy. Not so easy for others.
