I just recently read this book and I loved it! Fairies, Centaurs, Goblins, and one 12 year old criminal genius! What more could one want!? Also, I heard that there is going to be a movie made about it! Lemme know if you like it or know anything about the movie!

I dunno about all you but it caught my appeal!! I was hooked right after I read the Prolouge! It's got good humour. Most fantasies are so stiff and serious! And it even has a bodygaurd taking out a troll with a mace!!! :battle::battle: It's set in a modern timeline and the events are very futuristic. If you haven't read it, read it. If you have read it, post!!! Or else I'll cry!mecry mecry mecry mecry mecry

I wonder if there is going to be another book! I read the newest one and I was not at all disappointed with it! It was even better than the first one!

No, I don't think there will be because Eoin Colfer has written another book since then (not an Artemis Fowl one) and all through the first book, if you translate that code thing, it's hinting there will be another book but in the arctic incident it doesn't hint at all... it just tells you to look after the world. But I didn't know there was going to be a movie! I can't wait! where did you hear this, Beleglotiel?

My friend told me about it and I think she found out at the website.........I'm assuming that it is perhaps artemisfowl.com but i'm not sure

it's been mentioned on eoincolfer.com but only in the guestbook.

I just found this on the official website!
This year is going to be a very busy one for me. Not only is the paperback of the Arctic Incident coming out very soon, but the third Artemis book will be released in the Summer. This one is called The Eternity Code and I hope everyone likes it as much as the last two.

Well, I guess I was wrong when i said there would only be two!

I have read all the books so far. They really caught my interest. There's going to be a movie made and there's going to be another book.

Eoin Colfer came to my school to talk last year and he told everybody about his third book then. It was so cool...he's got a great sense of humor and I have the second book signed by him!

Beleglotiel
April 14th,2003, 03:52 AM
Wow! he came to your school!?!? That must have been tight! Nothing like thet would happen around here, especially not in this hick town that I've found myself in.

I can't wait for the next book and the movie!! :stomper:

Amoraq
April 14th,2003, 10:55 PM
Yep, it was way cool!

Another author came to visit today actually. My school seems to be big on author visits. This time it was a newberry medal winner.

May 6th,2003, 08:31 PM
I tried reading the first book, and I never got past page 30 or so. I don't know, this book just doesn't go down with me. The characters were not really to my liking, and the style... well, I didn't like it either. But since so many of you are saying such nice things about it, I think I might just give it another try... :)

Evenstar
May 6th,2003, 09:11 PM
yes, it is definately worth giving it another try!
those of you who have read the Eternity Code, have you tried working out the code at the bottom of each page? i got about 1/2 way through the book. i am just interested to see what you came up with. :)

Beleglotiel
May 6th,2003, 10:25 PM
My friend did all of it, but I'm not good at that type of stuff

Amoraq
May 6th,2003, 10:29 PM
I know someone who figured out the whole code. Did anyone notice that on the second book's cover the word FOWL is spelled out in the code?

Beleglotiel
May 6th,2003, 10:33 PM
I sure didn't. I guess I'm not that observent heh :)

Amoraq
May 6th,2003, 10:59 PM
Well, I didn't notice it...someone pointed it out to me. It's hidden in the silver cover.

Beleglotiel
May 6th,2003, 11:02 PM
Wow, cool! That guy is very clever

Amoraq
May 6th,2003, 11:03 PM
Yep, he is. He's also actually kinda annoying, but he's brilliant with the code...he cracked the whole thing.

Beleglotiel
May 6th,2003, 11:17 PM
Annoying? How so?

Amoraq
May 6th,2003, 11:18 PM
Oh well...he just never stops talking. And he's always getting into trouble.

Beleglotiel
June 23rd,2003, 04:02 PM
Ugh! What is it with you people and Harry Pothead!?!?! I draw the line at obsessing over that! I have too many obsessions as it is. I like the movies and all, but I wouldn't read the books.

Eowyn
September 4th,2003, 10:01 PM

Evenstar
September 11th,2003, 05:14 PM
Yes apparently. I don;t know any more than that though.

Look what I just found on the official website!
I am very busy at the moment working on several projects. The next Artemis book is due out in 2004, but before that there will be a mini adventure in 2003 and a full length sci fi book- The Supernaturalist. For younger readers The Legend of Spud Murphy will be out next Spring.

So there is going to be another book!

Eowyn

The last one I read was after the Omega Code. The title escapes me though.
Is there really gonna be a movie??????

ladyofthelight
August 5th,2007, 10:40 PM
I think that one was 'Opal Deception'
As far as a movie, I have no idea. Do you know what the books' website is? i'd check there. There's nothing on IMDB about it, though.

BelovedCaptain
August 7th,2007, 12:37 AM
