I just found a quote of Miranda Otto's (Eowyn) reported in July
(http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2002/07/04/1025667024701.html) that I found somewhat amusing:
"I love the career that I have because I'm not a star or hugely famous,
but I still get to do things that I really like."
lol I think that's about to change Miranda. Not a star or hugely famous!? You've got less than a month, sweet!

She's very pretty. After TTT, i think life won't be the same for her anymore.

She looks the part and from her interviews she seems to understand the character. I have no complaints so far.

I'm not at all keen on Liv as Arwen... but Miranda Otto just looks exactly right as Eowyn... and from what i've seen and read... she will be stunning in the film.

Miranda Otto gave an excellent portrayal of Eowyn as someone who is brave and wants to fight for her people instead of being stuck at home.

Oh mirando is so perfect! I love the way she shows her emotions with her eyes and not necessarily has to speak! I actually kinda felt her pain! she was ery convincing to be cold and grim! I think miranda can pull off the physical role in the next film very well!

I really like her as Eowyn. :) Does anyone know where I can find decent pics of her in real life, without the wig? The pics on imdb are pretty bad...

The Admired Miranda (http://www.maidenfair.net/miranda/) site has a pretty good collection of photos (http://miranda.maidenfair.net/gallery.html) and articles etcs
[I don't even know if there are any Australian celebrity sites? We're not big on that. There are fan sites around though]

My pleasure :) I should've added that I thought Miranda was bloody brilliant as Eowyn. I am so totally impressed. I really loved the complexity shown even when a scene was without lines it was only conveyed on her face (e.g., when Legolas was returning the evenstar pendant to Aragorn the range of emotions on her face are fantastic). Wished they they'd included the Uruk in the caves scene (maybe on the SEE DVD? though I also think it may have been cut to add impact to that other great combat sequence to come in ROTK ;) ) and also the so-called "Noble charge" scene depicted on one of the cards.
 more miranda, more miranda, more miranda, more miranda, want more miranda :hooray:

Thats a great thing about knowing the books, we know there'll be lots more Miranda in RotK ! Can't wait to see her battle the lord of the Nazgul, I have no doubt it will be done well now.

i just read that interview on her which was on the news page here... it made me feel rather sorry for her, she said she just wants to act, not be famous, and made me rather despise Hollywood, the way they've made actors into superstars pfbbt

OMG!Sorry for all the guys out there she just got married!!!!!!!!! Literally.....just got married!
SMH : Miranda Otto marries in Cathedral Lock out (http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2003/01/01/1041196690529.html)
"Australia's Lord Of The Rings star Miranda Otto married actor boyfriend Peter O'Brien as celebrity wedding bells marked the new year.
The pair's wedding had been planned under a veil of secrecy and went mostly unnoticed by the local showbiz industry preoccupied with the New Year's Eve marriage of Australian Golden Globes contender Rachel Griffiths.
Otto, 35, and O'Brien, 42, began 2003 with their nuptials in Sydney's St Mary's Cathedral."

Congratulations to Miranda and Peter, and the best of wishes to both of them. :)
Anyway, if my fellow WarRingers know me well, I doubt I have to say much regarding the love I possess for Eowyn. :loveyou: The majority of all my praises for her have already been posted elsewhere.
Overall, Eowyn is an incredible character, brave, and has a firey spirit. Furthermore, she knows how to wield a sword - another plus.

Oh and I did Tar. I sent it as pretty much as soon as the SMH posted it, and before I posted in this thread last night. Actually WOTRn would've had it before TORn was told about it ( I was trying to give WOTRn a head start with the news, but noone put it up :( Its actually happended with a few things I've sent. iwas guessing that if it wasn't strictly LOTR related (I mean about it specifically) it wouldn't go up. And yes I had the email correct, actually I sent to two addresses (news + an individual).
Oh well, TORn has it up now (but their linked piece doesn't have a piccy of Miranda  )

A Very Eowyn (http://www.hollywooddreamsonline.com/images/Return_of_the_King_Junesmall.JPG) pose (bad scan ...actually looks like a bad digital photograph of a page).
