Illuvatar

Herein lies a story of Illuvatar and Orc in Las Vegas..
Through the wonders of today’s technology, it was brought to Illuvatar's attention that his mate Orc was going to be within a 300 mile radius of his home in Valinor (Orange County, Ca.). This proved to be too great of an opportunity for to miss!! So....Illuvatar and his Lady Arien packed some provisions, and two of their three entings into their chariot, and departed to meet the now infamous Orc and his brood in the Pits of Isengard (Las Vegas).
After a high speed trek across the California/Nevada desert, we arrived at the Orc's lodging at the Excaliber Resort/Casino. This proved to be an excellent idea of a place for an Orc and his brood to vacation. Due to the decoration of the place as a castle, complete with dragons, wizards, and various other items from the Middle Ages, Orc and company actually blended in quite well, and were probably just thought of by passers by as part of the scenery. :p
There were many "Huzzahs" and "Well Mets" exchanged and after a privy break for all(it was a long trek ya know!), it was now time for this now quite jovial party of six to make plans to feed! It was decided to leave the castle, and descend upon the buffet being offered at the MGM Grand resort. It was hoped that with a buffet, there would not be any cause to combat an Orc over the choice pieces of beef.
We were all seated at a grand table with Orc on one side at the end and myself on the opposite side in the middle, as I was warned to keep clearance between my plate and his. (Thanks Fatty!) And it was a most merry meal I must say!! With the young ones partaking all they could, the ladies laughing at the strange behaviour of their mates in public, and plenty of eat and drink to be had!! You should have seen the shards of Prime Rib, shrimp and crab shells a flying, I imagine we were quite a site!! :elfeek:
Deity as I may be, I must humble myself, and step aside if I ever again find myself in the presence of the ravenous appetite of Sir Orc!! A valiant effort I did give, but was only able to venture back for seconds of the prime rib, and then sit in awe as Orc came back with a third helping!! pfbbt
With the buffet righteously decimated, it was time for more socialising and entertainment. For this we headed back to the castle, it was important for us to blend back in, as the buffet assault had raised an eyebrow or two. Once back at the castle, (and more trips to the privy), we had heard of a fire breathing dragon that appears nightly and terrorises the locals, and we could not resist. We headed to the waterfront and the dragons lair. We then proceeded to taunt and challenge said dragon, but it appears that our sheer presence was intimidating enough to keep the poor bugger cowering in his lair!!
Muahahaha!! :flamer:
(We actually found out that he was broken and couldn't come out :()
With no dragons to fight, we decided to entertain ourselves by taking photos of each other and swapping stories. There were many statues and whatnot for photo ops, and we did not neglect a one. We were even able to view the majesty of our ladies astride noble steeds!! (statues of course!!)
After a fun time by all, and with much sadness, hugs were given, well wishes were made, then Orc and his company returned to their lodging, and we turned our chariot west and headed home.
To wrap this up, I must say that am very grateful that there is a place like this where friendships like this can be made, and events like this can take place!!! And will not hesitate to venture forth on a similar journey when given the opportunity.
