have any of you had the chance to see or hear about the Spoof to the Lord of the Rings? Its called Bored of the Rings! It sounds like an awful book! What do you think?

Yeah, Bored of the Rings is awesome! Once you finish with BotR, though, you can read Lord of the... Whatever (http://www.flyingmoose.org/tolksarc/book/book.htm). It's got a lot more inside jokes for Tolkien fans!

Oooo Bored of the Rings! That book was ACE! I laughed myself silly all the way through.

I love Pepsi's line 'I want to go poo poo'! I giggled away alll night over that.

And the bit in the begining with Frito and Lavalier (Galadriel)

I got BoTR in college in the early 70's, and after memorizing it, lent it out. NEVER got it back, and I was always bummed about that. Found it on Amazon just recently, and immediately read it- still the funniest thing around!!! The Vee-Aytes, Arrowroot.....I've always remembered '"It is the Spumoni. Do not drink of it-it causes cavities" And he spat into the river contemplatively.' For 30+ years, I've remembered that story!!

I just got ahold of it. I was in line at B&N, flipping through the pages and started laughing out loud reading it. All these quiet, sophisticated coffee-house types turned around and glared at me. It was great. :grin:
