One of the greatest MARVEL characers “SPIDER-MAN” struck the cinemas and made it big. Lots of cash for no time. Bravo ! Bravo ! Bravo !
But my question is “was that deserved”? Was it really such a good movie, or was the popularity of that comic creation just used to summon the fans and take their money? …….most likely disappoint them as well….

I watched the movie today and was quite amazed by it’s simplicity in general. Well, I must admit that even I have almost grown up with this character [considering the fact that I’m quite far away from the country where it was devised, but the comics are more than popular >>>they are more than famous, and I think that almost each and every kid worldwide has read and enjoyed the heroic deeds of Spider-man, or at least heard of him] and it was about time a movie was made. So far so good This year the movie SPIDER-MAN became a fact.
“ Finally” some would say. Sure - but was that long wait worth it?

As I said at the beginning of this paragraph my first [and I think final] impression was that the movie as a whole was terribly simple. No any special visual Fx, good plot nor something specific to keep the attention of the audience.
Typical Battle of GOOD vs EVIL. A plain love story[which was maybe the only thing which kept me on my seat till the end – but even here I was disappointed. The scene with Peter and MJ at the graveyard was such a cliché], one rather funny than scary villain, some really amiable actors [that of course, alone, was not enough to make the movie better] and a little bit of jumping here and there. To be honest nothing special, even dull and boring. And what mostly shocks me is how could this movie make so much money and break almost all records [I have no particular info but I heard it has sold as much as S.W EPI and TITANIC which are at the top of the record charts].
Or you know what. Maybe I’m the only one who doesn’t like it?

You can share your opinions of the movie here and I’d like to hear them.

Mmmmm i can see where youre coming from WinterSoul.....I liked it tho.....simple yes...but a sweet simplicity which i found rather refreshing...Spidey always was a pretty straight forward beat up the bad guy, win the girl while trying to keep identity secret sort of comic....never had all the angst of say....X-Men, for example and i think the movie captured that really well. And i found it rather refreshing that they didnt feel the need to complcate things too much just to make a good movie...*grins*....and this is me talking....the one who is always complaining about movies having no depth!!!;)
And i loved the webslinging FX....ok...so maybe not in yer face, but pretty damn spectacular....and yeah...the Goblin could have looked better....but, really...*laughs*....theres only so much you can do with a guy who rides around on a frisbee wearing green:rolleyes: lol

Well, I enjoyed the movie! I thought it was pretty much all well done - besides the Green Goblin which GREATLY could have been improved... the scene where he captures Spiderman for a moment was very annoying... But I liked the movie enough to be a member of its official site :) All my friends were quite annoying when it came out becuase that was all they talked about! ARGH I thought the movie was a success... (I have a feeling catz is gonna comment on my answer)lol

I've never really read Spiderman Comic Books but I know the story enough the know what was going on. I really enjoyed the movie(except the opening credits where they listed everyone who worked on the film).

The movie was a success in my opinion, I grew up with Spidey, the movie stayed generally close to the actual comics but of course a few good points that really made the comic were altered for purposes unknown -=coughs=-Idiots!-=coughs=-

I think the movie effects were very good, hte image of Peter Parker watching a fist swing at him in slow motion and his eyes glancing back and forth what, three times from the hand to the attackers' eyes gave me the impression of, "Yep, that guy is gonna get his *** kicked." I liked the movie, it was good, it left you on a good note, LOTS of room for a sequel (which I heard is already in the making with the Lizard guy and Doc Oct and another villian I heard, but I am unsure) and it performed it's purpose of generally keeping us occupied away from books (the intellectual media) to the movies (the intellectual media, as long as the movies do come from the United States*).

*that was intended as a joke, lets face it, a lot of our movies are indeed bad... And I am an American so no hate mail, I'm a proud patroit and have been in this country for nearly 400 years (well, my family at least), fathers and forefathers fought (and some died) in every war we've ever had, and I myself am on my way to becoming a paratrooper. So, if you can't take a joke, you have more problems than just answering my posts.
