As I said, PLEASE, do NOT read this is you want to remain spoiler-free for the books. (And consequently, movie.)

As those of us that have read all three books know, that the trilogy begans to come more from Sam's view, starting with "The Choices of Master Samwise". It becomes more of Sam's story as it gets futher along. (Especially when Frodo gets...umm....eccentric.)

But now there are the movies.

Is anyone else concered that they will be/stay Frodo-centered and not come more from Sam's point of view? I loved this and it would hurt very much if it did not turn toward this view in the film.

But then again, I realize that people who've not read the books would become confused if it switched view-points so majorly. Anyone think that PJ will keep it Frodo-centered during the entire thing? I am. (No duh there, eh? LOL)

hmm... I want it to sway towards more sam view point, but I get the idea that it will remain with frodo for the very reasons you mentioned. I guess we'll just have to 'wait and see'

I liked Sam's POV thing as well. You have more detail this way, as Frodo is disoriented half the time. I believe that Sam's role will be a lot bigger in the movie, hence bring out his point of view of the mission etc.

I think I read somewhere that they will concentrate on Sam in the third movie. Fotr focused on Frodo, TTT on Aragorn and Rotk on Sam.

Yeah i agree Keverzwijn, I think if it is staying in trend with the rest it should switch viewpoint again but since this does have more to do with frodo thatn in two towers i am unsure what PJ will do.

Sean Astin said in the CHUD interview that Sam becomes more proactive as the story progresses. As Frodo's struggle becomes more and more internal, Sam is the force that keeps them moving forward in the external world. I'm sure that will mean more of a Sam-focused third movie.

i read an article saying that the two tower was more from sams view, than frodos (at least for thefrodo/sam scenes)

I sure hope they will go with the Sam thingi! Though Í haven't read the book yet, I heard a lot about it. And I think Peter just want's to tell the story as it is written. With some difference ofcourse

I really hope that RotK will be more from Sam's point of view.
It would make that movie the best movie EVER!

i have just finished reading the lord of the rings for the 2nd time and i will holdly agree that they shoud stick with sams point of view, and i can see how people who hasn't read the book will get confessed as the 2nd movie ends where Gollum's about to lead them into Shelobs Lair not that poeple who haven't read the book would know this .

Yeah, PJ has to show that Sam has easily grown out of his gardener stage and moved on. Besides Frodo will be too preoccupied with the obsession for the ring. So it has to become Sam's story for there's no one else to drag crazy Frodo to Mount Doom.

I belive that the movie will gradually move towards Sam's piont of view. I don't think that it will happen as quickly or as much as it did in the book, but if you think about it has to happen. If not for Samwise the quest would have failed before it began.

I think with the way TTT ended, that signifies the shift in who the focus of the story will be on: Samwise the Brave.

I could not agree more. Frodo gets more obsessed with the Ring, and therefore Sam was forced to write those chapters of the book and thus be the main character in the Movie.
