Lots of the stars are nto bothering to go to the premiere's. Dissappointing many fans waiting in often miserable conditions. No Viggo, Ian or Mr Lee in NY and Elijah and Orlando seem to be abscent from the London premiere. In fact Elijah was busy in an AOL chat.
I guess they have other projects and such but come on.....
Maybe New Line should do a list of expected cast for each event in future...
What do you think?

That would be a good idea. But then again, they may not even be sure who's going to make it...:( Just a quick question/comment... Aren't both Orlando & Elijah shooting films right now? So maybe they couldn't get the time to go to all the premiers...;) Just a thought....:)

yeah i think it isnt unreasonable that a lot of cast cant be there, but it would be nice to say who will and who wont, so you dont have these disappointed fans...

AOL Chat huh? How sad! I would rather it have been for a funeral than that. At least it would have seemed a more honorable of an absence. Oh well, sometimes we can misplace our priorities. I agree, they should at least do some sort of RSVP for whatever the reasons. IMO

Part of me agrees with you. It's (AOL chat) not a very good reason to miss a premiere.. But, if he already couldn't be there. Due to filming constraints, or something else. Then I see nothing wrong with Elijah doing the Chat thing.... Atleast fans got to be intouch with him....;)

Yes, and perhaps we may be taking his absence out of context for what it actually was. This is a place for expression of opinions and I do hope that if the cast reads this at anytime they will see it for that. I speak for myself when I say this, they are human and we shouldn't expect more from them than we would from ourselves. But we shouldn't expect less either. Propriety and manners do not simply disappear when you become famous. I would hope that fact would remain regardless of the reasons. IMO...;)

Maybe a list of confirmed and tentative attendees may help. Maybe though, the organisers don't want to do that ... maybe they thought not as many fans would've turned up if Elijah and Orlando didn't (though I think that would be underestimating the fans a tad if that were the case).
I thought I had heard/read somewhere that cast have a committment to attend four of these events. So I think it would be hard to expect all principle cast to turn up to every premiere. Miranda was good enough to let the Sydney Morning Herald know which events she was definitely attending and which she was still considering attending.
I also think with Elijah its a bit hard. He's kind of the headliner even though its an ensemble thing. he seem to be the one most interviewed and the one many people clammer for attention from. He seems to be doing an amazing amount of interviews...even in Paris it sounded like all day was spent being interviewed and all night was at the premiere and afterparty. The poor guy must be exhausted. Instead of being at theLondon premiere he had the AOL thing (conducted if I remember correctly while in a limo between places). I'm sure thats not the reason he missed the London premiere as that surely could've been done over the phone from London. Didn't he have other talk show interviews happening at that time?

Elijah, is on The Tonight Show sometime this week... I think also they (Elijah & Orlando) did the Today show in New York. I believe it was the same morning as either the Paris, or London Premier.. I'm not sure thou... ;)

Animals???? *raises eyebrows*
Anyway. I've noticed that on the Fox Studios (Sydney) site they've made an effort to say who would be at the Sydney Premiere. I don't know, maybe the "including" means there's the possibility that others might turn up (maybe this had been listed a while ago and not everyone had confirmed? Here's hoping anyway. Many thanks to those who are turning up notworthy to the Sydney Premiere. I still like the idea of a "confirmed and tentative" list. That way you know who should be going (barring unforeseen circumstances) and who might be going (but you don't get your hopes up too much).
According to the Fox Studios (http://www.foxstudios.com.au/calendar/) site, the Sydney Premiere details are:
The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers
The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers premieres at Fox this Thursday. See the stars & filmmakers as they walk the red carpet, including Dominic Monaghan, Miranda Otto, David Wenham, Hugo Weaving, Barrie Osborne (producer) and Andrew Lesnie (director of photography) at the Australian Premiere.
Thursday December 19 from 7.00pm at Hoyts Fox Studios.

Actually, I think I take all that I said back. I don't think it makes one little bit of difference whether they produce of list of confirmed attendees, because of the list above both Dom Monaghan and Hugo failed to turn up to the Sydney Premiere (unless of course I missed them but I doubt that given how much fan-girl screaming there was when ever anyone who looked vaguely like someone walked on the carpet).
In short, I don't know if a list would be honestly reliable or useful... and inevitably (or atleast potentially) more disappointing. Dom's absence was particularly felt by some there (sorry Hugo, as much as I personally would've loved to have seen you, Dom's a bit closer in age to the hordes of screaming teenage girls that were there) and he was the only international cast member who confirmed he'd turn up. Real shame :(
