Pirates of the Caribbean

I saw the teaser for this film (I was hoping for some footage of Orlando, but unfortunately there was no sight of himmecry , or anyone for that matter.) Orlando got third billing:), after Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush. From what I hear of the plot, it sounds like a pretty good film. The hair style Orlando's been sporting at premiere's is for Pirates. I think it's release is sometime next year. If anyone has any more info on this film, I would love to hear it.

Nonono...well I wouldn't mind looking at Orli for a couple of ours, but I actually think it might be an ok film! I love historical films...or books for that matter...and I find the history of the Caribbean Sea rather interesting! Though I can clearly see he'll look dashing as a pirate...;)

There's just something about British guys living a few centuries ago-like Colin Firth in Pride and Prejudice.:)

I love pirate movies, so that will be the main reason I go... but the double does of hotness won't be a bad thing at all.
From what I have read, Orlando is not a pirate. Johnny Depp is a good pirate....It is due for release on July 9th, 2003. I have actually already been spoiled a great deal about this movie. Actually, I don't think that Johnny's character has a daughter. The girl you are thinking of is Keira Knightley, who portrays Elizabeth Swann in the film. Her father is the governor, and is played by Jonathan Pryce.

Well there are even talks of July 29th now... but July 9th is still the one that every site seems to be listing.

It isn't really taking longer... I could be wrong but I know that they were changing locations and I think they may have taken a break for Christmas.

Filming was delayed though after there was a fire on the set but that was before they had started filming in the first place.

As far as I understand it, the movie didn't start filming until the begining of October... So, it should be filming atleast until about the end of February... That's just a guess thou, most movies seem to only take about 4 months to film... If they've had delays thou, it could take longer..... I don't care thou, I just wanna see Orlando....:thumbs: :)

its always post-production that lags down everything...heh...heck, took a year or more for all of the LOTR films ;)

Yep, they were still working (editing & stuff) on TTT when Fellowship came out.. I bet there still working on RotK... Plus last summer the cast had to go back to reshoot scenes for TTT... Wonder if they'll have to do it for RotK...

From Hell is good, watched it a while back. Though I looked away from some scenes, a little too messy and bloody sometimes. Overall very good, and don't forget Ian Holm as the Ripper himself, good performance! Johnny Depp is one of my fav's...but I think I've said that before! Did you see Don Juan DeMarco, (did I get that right?), just loved that one! And I got a new tape of Chocolate, liked that one too, allthough Johhny's part wasn't that dominant! Think I'll try that mexican hot chocolate drink with chilipepper...:elfeek:

Besides the Pirates film, I have heard that Orlando is starring in a film called "The Calcium Kid" in which he plays a milkman who takes up boxing and takes on a World Champion who has never been defeated, and also "Troy" as in the Trojan Wars, and an Australian film called "Ned Kelly". These films are going to be released over this year and 2004 I believe, so along with RoTK, I think we will be seeing quite a lot of Mr Bloom

Rose Byrne played Dorme in Star Wars Episode 2. There are lengthy threads on most star wars fan websites discussing that she should have gotten the role of Amidala over Natalie Portman. Apart from Christopher Lee she was the person who came closest to real acting in that film. Well other than Yoda and he was cgi.

IMDB has her listed as playing the role of Briseis (and not Helen). Interesting that her story is obviously gonna be fleshed out quite a bit. Which may mean that the storyline will be fairly faithful.

If you want to check out her work look for "Two Hands" in which she stars with Heath Ledger or the "The Godess of 1967".

Filmings meant to start in April 2003 for Troy.

I hope the director (Wolfgang Peterson) can conjure up his 'das boot' greatness (though that film was over 20 years ago).

I'm not that sure about Pirates of the Carribean. It has some great actors but I don't see why it needs to have a supernatural theme to it. There hasn't been a decent pirate genre film for ages and trying to get both that to work with the supernatural element as well seems a but risky. What with the continued trampling into the dirt of the "Treasure Island" franchise I don't have huge faith in them. Anyway I hope I'm suprised and it does work. I've never been on the disney ride.

Actually while Sean Bean is listed on the IMDB website, IMDB apparently just list rumours as much as fact - recent example of an actor who was meant to be in Star Wars Ep 3. I actually thought they were reasonably authorative and accurate but I was wronfg. So while he appears to have been quoted as being approached for the part its not confirmed yet.

OO! now I know! i was reading about it in Nikelodeon's Magazine. k' there are these pirates who are after treasure from thier arch enemy (forgot his name). Orli and Johnny Depp are good pirates...but the twist is that pirates never die, and when night comes, they turn into skeletons.....*shiver*

I saw the trailer the other Sunday, too. I was flipping through TV just in time to see OB introducing it. It looked like a really good movie, although I don't know if I'm going to go see it. I don't want to have an image of his character from "Pirates" in my head when I go in to see ROTK in December. I want him to "stay Legolas" in my mind until I see ROTK. I guess that means I'll wait till "Pirates" comes out on DVD.

About "Troy" I thought it was confirmed that SB will be in it. Maybe not... I hope so, though! That's a flick that I'm really looking forward to! I'm a sucker for historical dramas. :grin:
