View Full Version : Song for Smeagol

Rumil
December 23rd,2002, 04:36 AM
I've been trying to come up with something that does justice to Smeagol since I saw the film. This is the best I can do.

Upon Smeagol a dreadful doom was laid
To be devoured by Sauron's master ring
To endure the dark and yet never fade
Fated to be a shrunken wretched thing.
Of all woes caused by Sauron the accursed
On this small life, polluted and enslaved,
Would turn the very doom of Middle Earth,
By evil, all from evil, would be saved.
The traitor's desire itself betrays
And being corrupt confounds corruption,
In vengence unforeseen the victim slays
His own destroyer in his destruction.

An extremely well written poem, Rumil. A wonderful work such as that does indeed do Smeagol justice. :)
