Does anybody have a pic of the Elven Daggers Legolas has in the LOTR movies? I really want to see them, they look cool.

You are far from being alone in this request. It is by far the most common question I get through the Armoury. As of right now, no one is producing Legolas' Fighting Knives. United Cutlery has yet to establish their 2003 line up of swords, but it is most likely that they will include the knives. There are a few other smithies out there that are producing swords inspired by LotR, but are not licensed replicas. There is always a chance that one of these companies will produce a similar knife. Due to the obvious high demand for them, someone will probably make them. I will definately post something when I find out.

It looks like UC is seriously considering making the Legolas Daggers. Take a look at the end of this article coming out in Blade magazine in March 2003

i have a friend who asked: (while watching/mocking Bashki's Lotr, her brain must have been melting) didn't Bilbo say that Sting was an elvish butterknife?

It was an elvish dagger made in Gondolin in the First Age (You can check it e.g. in the Encyclopedia of Arda), and it's a perfect sword for the hobbits, who are much smaller than elves...

Arms of Valor, Ltd. made their own battle-ready version of the Elven Daggers. They are not exactly like the Legolas Daggers in the movie, but they offer some very good features that other replicas do not:
1. High-carbon spring steel (battle-ready and can be used blade on blade)
2. Razor sharp
3. Come with a leather back sheath and three strap harness
4. They are available now!
Some of the major differences in appearance are due to copyrights. There are no designs on the blade or handles, and because they are battle ready the handles are thicker than the ones from the film.

Any opinions on the look of these blades, and if anyone has ordered a pair what do you think?
