Here is a poem I wrote several years ago:

While I wan't watching your fear became an eggshell

Surrounding me with a solid wall of anxiety

While I wasn't watching your promises became my cage

Capturing me in my own disappointment

While I wasn't watching your lies became my poison

You sell them like drugs on a street corner

While I wasn't watching

I became like you

i like it. you present it in a very forceful way, and the touch of regret becomes it well :)

I love the irony...bitterly critical for the 1st three stanzas and then, POW, .. 'i became like you'... as bad as the thing being criticised. Really clever!!
