Orlando - Pirates of the Caribbean

I read something in a local paper a few days ago. It was about a Swedish magician called Joe Labero. It said that he was to play a pirate in a pirate movie (I can't remember the name of it now, sadly). That sort of alarmed me, but then I read on and saw who were going to play the lead characters. Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom! :elfeek: I was trying to imagine Orlando as a pirate! Now that I've had a few days to think about it, it could work. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing this movie. :) It will be great. I'm sorry if anyone mentioned anything about this before.

I just looked it up.. it's called "Pirates of the Carribean". It's apparently based on a Disney Park ride!?! :elfeek: Johnny Depp will play Captain Jack Sparrow. Geoffrey Rush will play Pirate Captain Barbossa and Orlando Bloom will play Will Turner. It will be out next year.
It says on http://www.imdb.com that it's still in production though, so it will probably be a few more months at least.

A bit of info.... I was just looking at the site Orlando Bloom Files... I noticed that she's posted the release date of Pirates as 8/14/03... So I would have to guess that they pushed it back due to the early delays in filming....:( :)

Orli will be absolutely adorable as a young pirate (did you see him at the NY premiere! ...apparently that was what the longer dark hair and goatie was for ....I thought he looked unbelievable :loveyou: ). I can so totally imagine him in a film about Troy (incidently I can also imagine Elijah Wood being cast in an ancient Greek type film aswell - he really has the features for it).

Brad Pitt hasn't ever really done anything for me. I put him in the category with Leonardo Di Caprio ... not my type. Orli on the other hand .....*falls on the floor*. Glad he's in a swashbuckling pirate movie ...swooning will be back in fashion lol

Also guys Ned Kelly website (http://www.nedkellythemovie.com/) is really up and working now. You can see photos of Orli :grin: in a movie with his natural hair ...

i think he knew about the part from Rush when they were doing Ned Kelly in Aust., prob did not get the part through him though..apparently the mere fact that Johnny Depp is in the movie made him sign on the dotted line rather quickly.ha!:)

The Official PotC Site says the Release Date is July 9, but I've heard it could get pussed back to as late as mid August due to some delays in filming... So I think we'll have to wait until it's closer to realease time to get a definate date...:thumbs:

I checked out the summarization for the movie, and I think that with or without Orlando Bloom in it, it's got a potential of being quite well... pleasing.... to me its the story plot that counts, not the actors...

Deffinately the story plot is a biggie! But it seems like most of the movie goers today have turned to action-packed adventures where people die by weird creatures.....not me thought. :)

I dare say though, that the movement toward fantasy films and a story lines with a bit more plots to them is quite pleasing.

Also did any of you see the special that Access Hollywood showed last night... Poor Orlando, Johnny accidentaly hit him on the wrist while they were filming a sword fight scene.. Althou Orlando said he wasn't hurt, it looked like it had to hurt a little.. Also they showed a brief interview with Orlando, and he said something like.. "I've played an Elf, a Boxer, an Outlaw, and now a Pirate. It's every boys fantasy.." I wonder if he knows he's just about every girls fantasy?? ;) He's most definately mine..:grin:

Well Lissuin, the movies had quite a few delays.. It started filming in October. As I understand it, Orlando has had to cancel going to the Melborne premier of "Ned Kelly" on March 22, so he can finish filming....:mmmm:

Well, most of the time an R rateing is givin to War movies cause of the violence.... I'm not exactly sure what the rateing is for PotC, but I do believe is PG-13.. It's a Disney Movie, and they're going to make it so that alot of teenagers can come see it.... ;)

yeah they producters (or some1) pitched a fit cause disney wanted to make it PG and i think the producters (or some1) was able to convince then it was PG-13 cause it was scary stuff. it is a good thing too (prob) cause they will get more sales out of it. i dont know about where u live but the first thing a teenager says here when talking about a movie is whats the movies name? then follows whats it rated? if it is PG or lower there like uh huh maybe i will see it and they never go to see it then

I was watching a dumb program w/ my brother on the disney channel last night, and i was *b-ing about having to watch this a wasnt allowed to watch what i wanted. anyways i am sitting there yelling and all of a sudden, I shut up!!!!!! OMG!!!! ORLANDO BLOOM IS FREAKING ON THE TELLY TALKING!!!!! He was talking about the new PotC movie coming out and he talked for about 30 seconds (me sitting there w/ my mouth open and my brother says after the fact that i was drooling but i asure u that didnt happen :thumbs: ) then he said something and what looked to be a long extended preview came on the telly it lasted for about three or four minutes. lots of clips w/ depp and there were a lot of orlando too (OMG! HE LOOKS BETTER IN THAT FREAKING COSTUME WHEN HE IS MOVING NOT IN A PIC!!!!!!!) and then there is a kissing clip of him and that girl (GOD I would PAY BIG BUCKS to be her!) and then they kinda end w/ a clip (something dramic cant remember what) and then a black screen comes up w/ July 9 on it uh it also said "Not Yet Rated" but i thought they desided that it was PG-13? but i think i will be tuning into the Disney channel all this week right now i am trying to figure out where i put my recordable tapes i want to tape that thing!!!
